thunderbolt always was softer lead, especially hollow point. Try some CCI or federal with the copper coat. non hollow point.

I'm going find some CCI tonight and head to the range tomorrow morning. Seems like the majority of people I've talked to suggested CCI

My response to that earnings report is risky, since it's dangerously close to being political, but I feel that the decline definitely has to do with the fact that the current administration isn't threatening new restrictions every couple of weeks.

    going to be fun!
Hard to see these sales down since FBI/ATF is still reporting record background checks for purchases and NFA items are at an all time record high....

One of the HUGE factors is that people are building there own now and or buying more economical entry level firearms.

They're a PITA to shoot without a stock. Laser might help. I almost got a fat lip the first time I shot a shockwave.

It's only awkward with a pistol grip. As a long gun lefty, the Remingtons don't work for me in any configuration. I'll keep my Mossbergs.

Yeah, I in no way intended to bring politics into this, but figured the article/news was worthy of a firearm-BS thread post.

I always have wanted to take my Mossberg 930 security to shoot clays. You just reminded me to do so!

(Preface: This is a business-focused response, not politically-focused, from someone working in the industry now...)

THIS^^. They can't have it both ways. The numbers referenced in the article are specific numbers but no specific data range was mentioned. For all we know it could be that sales are down 46% in suburban zip codes with males ages 35-56 with an average household income below $90,000. These companies deal with tons of specific data, and knowing what I know about statistical data and this industry, the numbers can be massaged all kinds of ways to reflect the writer's intent.

Yes, older, established firearms companies are hurting. They're not hurting because a lack of sales. Yes there are wave patterns in sales data that reflect presidential administrations, but they've weathered these waves for decades prior to the economic crisis a decade ago. The older, established companies are hurting because their parent companies have leveraged their names to the point that they are on the brink of being unviable. The next step is for the parent companies (who have very diversified portfolios and will always manage to stay afloat) to soft-handedly smear the entire industry, take control of the narrative, and offload these companies in the name of "American's changing opinion on firearms," when the reality is they're trying to offload debt and line board member's pockets with more profits.

Yeah. It definitely is a one trick pony. Nothing sporty about it at all. It is a close quarters weapon for delivering massive damage. My plan (when I get a shockwave) is to use the Aguila Mini Shells. I've already got the Opsol adapter in my 500. That will give 9 in the mag tube, one in the chamber.
