I use xs tritium big dots on a glock build I have as well as running a set on an AK right now . Really fast for me when transitioning from target to target at various ranges and getting rounds on target asap .

Suspect they'd work great on a shotgun

Disclaimer : I've been shooting shallow v rear and bead front sights on dangerous game rifles for a long time so using these style sights well came pretty easy for me

Heading to Alaska in 6 weeks with a buddy for a 2 week DIY remote fly-fishing float trip. I'm bringing along my 870 Express for bear protection. Alaska F&G recommend Brenneke Classic Magnum slugs in 2 3/4".

Picked up a couple of boxes to see how they would pattern at various distances. At my local indoor range, 25' and 50' they were pretty much center mass. At 75' (max at this range) they were a tad high & left. Was probably just me...hard to tell with just a bead. Either way, I'm happy. Chances are I'll never need to use it.

you using a smooth bore barrel? Looks like those slugs can be used for either. I have a shotgun setup for weapon restricted hunting units. Rifled barrel and 4x shotgun scope. I was shooting Brenneke K.O. then last year switched to Hornady American Whitetail which shot high and to the right. Few clicks on the scope and I was good and they group well. K.O.'s grouped well for me too.

Have fun! sounds like a great trip. Can't wait to get back to Alaska again.

Bought a scope for my Mossberg Plinkstar today.. Been a decade since I shot it. Traded a Gen 3 Glock for a Factory built Spikes Tactical.. thinking of selling the gun whole or just the upper.

any inputs on getting an old 30-30 drilled and tapped for scope mount or just leave it be? Its an old late 50's or early 60's marlin lever action.

Leave it be, you can get a newer 30-30 cheap enough at most pawn shops if you want a scoped rifle in that caliber.
    Don’t fuck with a classic.

its got the old buckhorn sight I think its called. I couldnt figure out why it was shooting high, then some one said you have to barely have the front sight pop out of the v in the rear sight. Tried that and it shoots like a charm! Not super clean but still in good condition for an oldie.

Look into peep sights for it.

30-30 is neither a long distance nor MOA round, so hitting something minute of deer at 100 rounds should be pretty simple with irons.

I'm a traditionalist and a collector, so I'd say leave the vintage one alone and buy a newer one to mount a scope on.

Honestly, I never saw the point. Black powder is already inherently not that loud, certainly not to the point where you need earplugs. I think it was silencer co-‘s way of getting around and making something that people didn’t need an F3 for what could say they still had a silencer. Because it certainly doesn’t make it quieter enough to be in a bow like category.
