I can’t remember if he says it does come apart but my memory says it doesn’t, so the only way that I see that you can clean it, is poor shit Down it and shake it like a rattle can !

Boiling water first, then a standard oiled patch cleaning works well for anything BP. Or a Mosin-Nagant, after you shoot some of that tin container corrosive stuff.

Speaking of Noisey things, one time in my basement we were doing some chronograph ballistics with a 25 Cal adult pellet gun. It was so loud in the basement we had to wear air plugs because we were wetting the barrel! LOL

    Got to here:
    http://or3gun.com/index.htm

Check out the 930 tab. They break it all down. You need to change two parts costing around $50. They just swap out. This will allow you to run most any shell. Not sure why mossberg set up the shotgun to only use really hot loads.

Getting bored with my current rifles so I decided to start another rifle build. Put in an order for a Rock Creek barrel, .243, 1-8 twist, in m24/m40 contour. Think I am going to build a 243 1K+ range rifle on a Defiance action. Need to save a little more before putting the order in for the action but excited to get things started.

As they should be. The top screw with the silver washer on the Williams is for vertical adjustment. The other screw into the receiver is under that slide. Williams 5D is what you want for the 336. https://www.midwayusa.com/product/5...894-pre-2001-and-1895-pre-1994-aluminum-black

Every lever action I've ever owned had some type of receiver or tang sight on them. People didn't used to put scopes on lever actions. That's why they all have those screws on the side of the receiver (and why they're called receiver sights). You'll find those screws on the side of older bolt actions too. Ya'll must be youngins. :)

The nice thing about the Marlins is you can also use the scope mount screws for some really nice receiver sights as well, like Skinner and XS sights.

You'll find lots of pre 64 M70s either with receiver sights or drilled and tapped for them.

Not the best of pictures, but this is how a lever action was meant to look:

Unfortunately while I was camping this weekend a raccoon visited the chicken coop and killed & ate 3 of my birds; two pullets and a bantam. I checked the game camera and he visited at 22:30 sharp on both Saturday and Sunday night, so last night I went outside with the flashlight at that same time and took a look around. Spooked him up a tree, all the way to the top into the canopy. Fortunately, Raccoons like to keep an eye on you, and their eyeballs reflect the light from a flashlight. Which makes it easy to use an old Marlin 81 to dump a subsonic CCI 22 long just below their eye, even in the dark when they're 50 feet up a tree.

Never even twitched after he took the fast way down from the tree.
Don't click if you don't like seeing a dead raccoon. Not graphic, but still very dead. Foot for scale:

So I have had this SCCY 9mm pistol for awhile and needed to clean it. Got it all cleaned and while putting it back together the recoil spring decided to shoot the barrel back into the slide. When that happened the pistol was locked up. I could see that the recoil spring was hung inside catching on the frame but did not know how to get it apart. I made a quick call to SCCY and talked to a service tech. He said it happens sometimes. He guided me how to get the pistol apart and explained to me that when we were done that my recoil spring and guide rod would be trashed. I got the pistol apart with him on the phone and confirmed that my guide rod was now bent from the removal process. The tech took my name and ser# and is shipping me a new recoil spring/guide rod assy. I asked him how much it would be and he said it was free. I figured that I caused the problem that I would be charged. Great Customer Service.:bananadance:

This is the second one in a month and the fourth one this summer. I don't know what's drawing them in this year; none of my habits have changed. Never had problems with them before except for 1 a couple of years ago that I assumed was fluke. These are all big, fully-grown males, so it's not like I've got a litter hanging around.

They can hear and smell the chickens. I have a crazy neighbor on the other side of the road from me who feeds the damn things all the time. I bet he has 15 or more on his property and they never mess with his chickens. I am not saying you should feed them just telling you what a crazy neighbor I have.

Mine are usually locked up at night, but where we were gone we left the door open to the coop so they could still get outside and free range during the day. I've never seen him on my game/security camera before, either. Just bad luck that he happened to show up that night. And then of course because he was successful he came back.

I have 2 of these NcStar cases. One double rifle case and one of the rifle cases that turns into a shooting mat. Both have worked well over the last couple months and they aren't very expensive.
