Even if he does have a gun, putting a laser on his chest isn't likely to have a negative impact on your odds of survival. Either he's pointing it and focusing on you before you draw, (in which case he'll just shoot at you first as soon as you pull yours, laser or not) or he's focusing someplace else (in which case a laser won't give away the fact that you just drew and aimed at him). At the distance that you're likely to engage with your CCW, a laser wouldn't be 'giving away your position'

With a fog machine, so they can trace the laser back to its source

I agree, partially. I have an RMR on my carry gun just in case I do need to make a precision shot from distance (i.e. some yabo goes all "Aloha Snackbar" in a crowded area a la Mumbai, Westgate Mall in Nairobi, etc). There is generally no reason to use sights (much less a laser) at typical CCW type distances of less than 25 yards. Those interactions are more likely to be what we like to call "bad breath distance."

I like the Primary Arms ACSS reticle, but it sits too high for my liking. There is a built in spacer in the mount, but the eyepiece doesn't clear the rear sight with it removed. I decided to pull the Aimpoint Comp M2 off of my AR, throw it in a low mount and put the PA on the AR.

I also tried out the "meat tenderizer" collapsible stock. I'm 50/50 on the looks, but it adds a lot of weight, so I may stick with the fixed stock.

looking good. Here is my PTR 91FR with ACSS reticle. The rail riser allows me to still use iron sights. Works for me. It also has the match trigger from hkparts.net. I see a PTR 9CT coming in the near future.

Very nice. In the not-so-near future I may search for a PTR 111 and Form 1 it. I'm sure 308 out of a 12.5" barrel would be enlightening...

    Too much.
Played with my brother in law's Mosin and now I want one. I remember them going for like $99 a few years ago, and now you can't touch one for less than $275.... Damn it.

I shot an old, ratty SKS at a recent range day and walked away wanting one.

Damn, maybe I should sell mine

I think I paid $125 for it, and it came with a 440 rd spam can.

I like mine as well, it was inheritance form my dad.

With that metal stock plate on there though it is a hard hitter, you have to really prepare yourself for it.
There's a gun show happening next weekend Thanksgiving weekend over here in Costa Mesa here. Maybe 8f I can I'll go see what they got. Maybe some aftermarket rubber something or other.
I'd like to get 1 for the grand as well even thought the it's a lot easier on the shoulder.
