Firearm BS thread

Is there any way to anticipate Black Friday Firearm deals? Can I expect to see prices lower than Grab-a-Gun? I have a slowly growing wishlist and hope to find a deal. I'll keep an eye on r/gundeals.

 

I shoot a Henry .22 Silver Boy and .357 Big Boy Silver in competition.

Iron sights (upgraded) and really, really fun to shoot!

I need a .44 to add to my collection...........................

 

I remember years ago my LGS had a barrel full of those for $75 each you pick the one you wanted. I passed

Picking up my new MK25 today... Stoked.

 

Yeah, it's not awful. Just jumping from my .300BLK to the 8mm it is quite the difference. I think the position I was shooting from last weekend had it in a less than ideal location on my shoulder too. I have put a couple of boxes through it in a sitting in the past and not been too sore.

 

You will absolutely hate it.......

 

So now I'm try to find a beat up trap length lever action in .357 to play with.

 

@Mike330R I want to shoot that 44 mag one!!! We need to get out and burn up some powder.

 

So I’m really thinking about unwatching this thread now thanks to all of you that are posting up these lever actions! I’ve never wanted one in my life, and never owned one. Now I want one. I’m totally blaming this on all of you! LOL

 

I had it out last weekend at the range

Can bring it again.

Used the 'lil .357 yesterday (different than posted above) and just now loaded up another 200 rounds.

 

so my lever action was needed because first I had this



so I went and got this, JC..............

 

so of course what cowboy gunslinger would walk around without a rifle, so a Winchester 94 30-30 came home with me a few days ago. JC

The first rifle I ever shot was myDad’s Marlin 39A .22 lever action. This was many decades ago - I was 5 or 6 years old. It was pretty awesome!

So yeah, everybody needs a lever action or 2.

 

Shot one at the range the other day and the itch has been bad.

200yds w/ that 44mag was beautiful. Really made the plate ring.

 

I'm trying to get my M&P set up with suppressor height sights, but the kicker is the rear sight must be a Glock sight and the front be an M&P.
I don't have the factory sight dimensions (no caliper) but I grabbed the specs for Trijicon suppressor height sights from trijicons website.

M&P front .378
M&P rear .353

Difference .025


Glock front .365
Gock rear. .361

Difference .004


M&P front .378
Glock rear .361

Difference .017 (.008 from the M&P only configuration).

So I had considered getting 2 sets of trijicons (one M&P and one Glock) but I'm not dropping $220 to use one sight from each set and Trijicon won't sell them separately.
so after much, much googling and checking websites I found some options that keep the geometry that the trijicons have for the M&P set, below is what I have picked.

Ameriglo rear (plain steel)-. 360 x .150 Which would pair with Dawson precision .385x.125 (either Fiber optic or tritium)


With all that said, am I wrong to trust using the Trijicon "geometry" to calculate the sights?

 

Buy one set and some sandpaper?
