Both of mine fit just fine. Only downside is I’m taking my Corolla to Texas to hunt and the case doesn’t fit in the trunk:annoyed:

The perks are neat but it is a grind this time of year.

Once you have one in a booster as versus in something that uses LATCH it's a lot easier to get to those back seat storage compartments.

Sub2k time? Or some sort of takedown rifle?

Yeah, I need a takedown for a truck gun. Most likely a 10/22, sooner than later.

Out of curiousity, anyone running a larue m4? From the reviews their rifles are hard to put down once people start shooting. I’m digging the POf setup with a floating barrel and muzzle break, but get the vibe that larue still can outshoot it any day. I have some larue furniture and it def is quality stuff for sure.

I got to shoot a larue AR pattern rifle chambered in 260. Thing was a tack driver. Probably could do 1" groups at 200yds or very close to it.

That’s what I have been hearing too. Originally I was set on getting a POf warhog, but it sounds like the larue is just unmatched.

POF's get pretty good reviews plus they're local. Do they make a 6.5 caliber?
JP Rifles also make an astounding rifle. Top shelf for sure.

Larue has their OEM rifle or their Ultimate Upper kits (buy their lower after buying the UU kit) The UU kits are hard to beat price wise.

TidBit: If you want to make it easier to shoot good groups and long range with less recoil stick to the .264 caliber bullets. These include 6.5 creedmore, .260, and 6.5 Grendel (although this is for a small frame AR). All of those use the same bullet (.264) just different weights. Better ballistics than 308 (at distance) and less recoil.

.260 PredatAR (heavy barreled limited edition)

Dammit mike you got everything! Alright I need to get out there and get schooled up. I had a chance to try out carters bcm build with that larue trigger drop in and man it felt good. So a drop in kit might be your recommendation? I’m about as green as it gets when it comes to ar building. Do some buy the ar in pieces and then simply put it together? I would figure getting a larue in pieces might be more costly then getting a full build from the get go?

Did you look at the links I posted?
Click the UU link (add $200 for the cost of a lower) then click the factory 260 link.
The UU kit is EVERYTHING except the lower.
Factory rifle get you a few extras-different hand guard, gas block, etc.
This is assuming you want the large framed rifle (308, 260, 6.5CM).
Small framed rifles are a little less.
Plenty of people in AZ that can help you build it.

Don’t bother with large frame ARs. Learn how to reload and the world of .308 case head size cartridges in the AR15 platform opens up. Less weight and bulk with 95% of the performance of the large frame AR10 size rifles.

Case head size (.473”) vs the standard 5.56 (.378”). Most are made from either 6.5x47 Lapua or 6mm Dasher brass. They require special bolts and barrel extensions but other than that are standard AR15 rifles. The two I shoot are a 7mm Valkyrie pushing a 140gr Accubond at 2650fps from an 18” barrel and a 45 Velociraptor pushing a 250gr bullet at 2400fps in a 16” barrel. They are available in 22, 24, 26, 28, 30, 35 and 45 calibers right now.

Ahh, ok. No experience using any of those oddball calibers.
Would you recommend any of that to someone new to AR's?

As long as they have an understanding of how to reload. The basic build and functioning of the rifle is the same as if it were a standard 5.56 but the process of loading andy tailoring the round to the rifle can be a bit more complicated.
