Ahhh, I see the point. I missed that. Hence the need for accuracy.

    But here's a worthy quote:
"This versatile “little brother” of the .308 Winchester is a true triple-threat as a match cartridge, varmint cartridge, and game cartridge. With 115gr DTAC bullets, a .243 rivals a 6.5-284 ballistically out to 1000 yards. Shooting 80-100 grain hunting bullets, a .243 will anchor a buck with authority."

I guess Ive just always associated .243 as a "deer gun"

You're not the only one, but name-dropping its nearly-identical cousin 6mm creedmoor and people think "match cartridge." Same bullet, similar powder capacity. 6mm's are nice.

Anyone know if zevtech will make the oz9 in the compact size? I know the 19 frame drops soon but im wondering about the 19 slide length. Would be nice for a carry gun. The glock 17 is too big..

Thats certainly a good price for this Chinese scope! Perhaps they are preparing to market a modified newer version.
It gets fairly good reviews. I particularly appreciated this review of the #212007:

I'm not sure they are, the ETR version of the Ares line just release a few months ago and they are still selling these. I have plans to upgrade to a higher end Japanese scope eventually but I plan to move this one to my .223

I was very happy with my Nikon Monarch 3 4-16x50.
The optics were very good in low light, which was very important to me then.
How's this scope for low light?

Ive shot at 560 at my place when the sun is setting but it was facing our target and i could spot my impacts. I would say this is a bit to heavy and bulky for me to use it as a hunting optic. It's more a beginner long range optic.

Agreed. The Nikon is a half pound lighter at 19.4oz. (and priced at $500).

Ares certainly seems to be trying to steal market share from Vortex, they're jockeying hard at that price level.

I got an Athlon Argos on sale as an "open box" from somewhere a while ago. Argos is the low end of the line, but it's not bad. It has mil dots, which are a PITA. Unless you carry a calculator around or can do rain man math in your head. 1Mil = 3.44 moa

Or just use only mils? IIRC the Argos is aimed squarely at low-price PRS type shooters, who overwhelmingly stick to mils for corrections. They're also available in MOA, I'd be surprised if you couldn't trade it straight up with somebody looking to switch units.

I got a friend that refuses to use mils, we just throw brass at him when he calls out a correction in MOA

Better than the guy that calls out in linear units, but not by much. Pick what your competitors/friends use, it's not that hard, lol
