Gonna use my HD shotgun for turkey. Making a plug for it tonight out of some 3/8 wood rod/dowel. Anybody ever do this? Michigan has a 3 total capacity law and I don't want to buy another shotgun.

Super common among the migratory waterfowl types IIRC. Never done it personally, but hunting opportunity w/ shotgun where I'm at is...Limited, at best.

Ive had to do that for my 870, it works Just make sure you cant load more than 3 in the gun and you are good. I got checked by DNR in Texas and they didnt care it was a dowel, just that it could only hold 3

That's what I thought. Well the one Mossberg sells is nothing but a piece of wood, so I don't know how they could tell haha! They're cheap to get from Mossberg, but I have an extended magazine so I need to make my own. They only sell them for the 5 shell guns, plus I don't have time to wait for shipping. I'm hunting this weekend.

I'm on private property, so I'm pretty sure the DNR aren't gonna be coming onto our property, but I'd rather be safe than sorry, plus it might take me 5 minutes total to make the thing.

Not gonna be a good option for turkey :(
U really need a full-extrafull choke. If you don’t put a pellet in the brain or spinal cord you’re prolly not gonna recover the bird

Unless you can call them into like 15 yards, then the meat will be all shot up tho

Yeah I know it's not perfect, but it will work for one day. I'm no serious turkey hunter and this will probably be my only chance to get out there.

Heck, growing up all I ever used where cheap single shot 20 gauges and 410s. No chokes ever. Bagged plenty of small game with them.

I just want a reason to get out there. I need some quiet and to get as far from my stupid job as possible.

If I gotta be serious, I'm more into hunting white tails with my bow. I need to get a good hunting shotgun eventually here though. A nice over and under would be good.

Not sure about Michigan but in Texas the game wardens can go wherever they want. Ive even seen them cut locks off gates.

The best description I ever heard for the powers of the DNR guys is basically "Imagine the state police, but without a hundred years of litigation restricting their powers."

I know I post questions here a ton so I apologize but I have a strange compulsion to research the heck out of stuff before I spend money on it. Both a blessing and a curse.

    Anyways,

I have been trying to decide what to do about building an AR pistol. After a lot of deliberation I decided against 300 BLK, or 5.56 and want to go with 9mm. My reasoning revolves around ammo price, low recoil(wife will appreciate this) and the fact that I have two other 9mm guns that can share ammo. So I am on a quest for AR-9 parts. Found an upper I like here.

I am intrigued with the idea of a polymer lower for this build though. Does anyone have any experience with these or any other polymer lowers? I have seen both bad and good but I wanted to hear from people who aren't trying to sell me one or another product instead of them.

Don't know why I didn't think of this, but I can just get another barrel. Pretty easy to swap out.

Yeah, turkey with a bow is really something I want to do.

    Whoops!

I always have to check my backpack when I go to work. I work in a "gun free zone."
