Sure the volume of gas stays the same but the pressure does lessen when theres more volume for the gas to expand into, such as the extra barrel length. It also give the gasses more time to slow down, you're right, physics aren't variable.

Cool, doesn't mean other people won't enjoy drilling out their own can and/or getting it in under a year. Especially if its going on something that isn't going to see hard use like a range toy then who cares if its end of the world proof? I have a 223 bolt gun that an aluminum can would be perfect for.

Sure, but pressure is only half the equation. Flame and hot gas erosion of the aluminum is still going to be an issue. I'd at least use a SS blast baffle.

Aluminum baffles erode. Especially with a rifle rounds.

I’ve seen a few of the stainless steel MAC10 cans with eroded baffles. Rifle rounds especially out of a short barrel will make quick work out of aluminum.

Exactly. There’s a reason why everyone that is using aluminum are getting away from aluminum baffles. A lot of .22 cans are even going away from it.

Not sure if have a favorite. Glock I like a lot because very reliable and common, worked right out of the box. The Ruger LCPs I had to send back and took a while to get them to work without malfunction. But they're easier for conceal and carry.

Sounds good. Been interested in RDB because it's bulpupp and takes AR-15 mags. Downside is that it's not as common as AR or AK, so servicing it might be more difficult. Also, newer product so not as tested as the old AR and AK. But if it suppresses well that's well fitting because the shorter bulpupp won't get very long barrel with the suppressor.

Traded for this today, I’m excited to shoot it but will probably end up selling it (or maybe my XDS).

It was jamming. Some of the Ruger mags may have been bad. They changed some part on the gun as well, and I polished the feed ramp on the barrel. Also had to use a particular ammo, Winchester target rounds, and now it seems to work.

Sounds familiar. We recently bought a Kimber Micro 9 that had FTL, FTF and brass ejection problems. Kimber fixed it pretty quick but I bought a new mag and it's having similar problems. Pretty disappointing.

Yes, disappointing. I thought something as important as a gun, which the user desperately needs for it to fire if in a self defense situation, would not have these kinds of issues out of the box. Didn't have a ton of experience with guns, and was coming from the Glock, so I was surprised when it was happening to my Rugers. But now I realize it's not necessarily uncommon.

Kel-Tec stands behind their product. I wouldn't sweat parts breakage. ARs are definitely easier to maintain long term, due to the abundance of parts and common design. Get both?

My slight concern is ease of availability of parts with the Kel-Tec RDB, if the company goes under, doomsday scenario, etc., which may be unlikely, but in that sense not going to be as ideal as AR. Might get both. Not a bad idea. Which do you like better, RDB or AR?

Not the guy you asked, but between the two I'd run AR. The RDB is great, but I think the AR is a more weather resistant, robust, and reliable rifle platform.

I would absolutely get a *quality (BCM, LMT, Colt, KAC, Daniel Defense, LWRC) AR over an RDB, unless you do just get both. Way more options for accessories with ARs, and it's a proven system. I personally wouldn't totally trust a Kel-Tec.
I know the Kel-Tec is kinda cool cause it's different, and ARs are a dime a dozen, but if you want it for that reason, maybe get both if you can swing it.
