I got one although I have only shot it a few times, but I got no complaints. I believe they make uppers and lowers for other manufacturers as well.

Nothing too exciting... maybe a little rust
I have built a few rifles from Aero lowers and uppers, they make quality stuff. Almost all of them have been blem parts and I haven't been able to see a single issue with any of them. I actually have a couple more stripped receiver sets from them waiting for me to decide I need to spend money on guns again instead of trucks and weddings and honeymoons and whiskey and golf and power tools and landscaping and dogs... I need to find a cheap hobby.

Not much bullpup experience but I’ve handled a tavor or two suppressed. They have better muzzle numbers than at ear numbers since the chamber is closer to the shooters ear. For what it’s worth I’d say go for it bullpups are neat as hell.

I enjoy the RDB as a "fun" gun. If I were choosing one rifle for the apocalypse, it would be a lightweight AR carbine with an aimpoint or trijicon red dot. All of the weak points are well documented, therefore a spare parts kit can be put together to cover every eventuality. I've also got two decades worth of familiarity with the platform, so it just feels right.

A $400 PSA memorial day special, that you've trained hard with, is a better tool than a $3k Gucci gun that sits in the safe.

I never understood the whole Doomsday argument.

    An AK is the answer

That's like 9mm vs 45, or beans vs no beans. I feel that the AR is the more reliable, overall superior platform. Most U.S combat arms guys, with experience in modern conflicts, have that opinion. I'll listen to them.

AK was designed so conscripts could figure out how to use and clean it easily in their shit country.

If you are trained with one platform, by all means it's better for you.

For the regular person who isnt interested in having a wardrobe of FDE, black, and OD ripstop, ak is likely the better choice.

Why is Colt on that list? They haven't made good rifles in 30 years.

    None... yet
I’m a regular dude who’s shot handguns competitively for years, not prior service and don’t have formal training with and AR and I taught my USPSA buddy’s 10 year old girl and his wife how to shoot and reload an AR in like 10 minutes (he wasn’t big on rifles only competed with handguns)

Not claiming that either of them can run the gun with any competency lol but AR’s aren’t hard to figure out. It’s not quite “flip big metal down, rack little metal back, pull tiny metal banana ... boom boom boom” like an AK but it’s not hard to familiarize yourself and I’d rather have the lighter more accurate gun if I had to choose.

This. The AR is extremely easy to maintain as well. Canted front sights are common enough as to seem like an AK design feature. The sights suck, rock in mags suck, right side charging sucks for righties, LOP and cheek weld are subpar, etc.

The only reason that I bought an RDB, other than is looks good, is because I live in Massachusetts and I can't buy a new AR and I can't afford a pre ban AR.

I never shot an AK or AR, but own the Saiga 12 which is based on AK. One thing I don't like is that unless you keep count of the number of shots, you don't know when was the last shot fired. Happened to me on the range many times when I pull the trigger on the Saiga 12 and there was nothing to shoot. If I recall Ruger LCP has a similar setup. That I imagine is not good in a real life scenario, but I don't know for sure, never been in one. Just one feature that for me at least is high on the list of desired features.

AK’s can suck it, AR is where it’s at.

I suppose it's somewhat subjective, but the colt rifles my friends and I own have been good. Although none of them are super new, they also aren't 30 years old (other than an m16a1 upper I have)

I think they have a mod for last rd hold open. Some of the newer Saigas have it. If yours doesnt its older.

Not sure how dependable they are. Looked into it before and didn't like what I found out. Not sure what gen my Saiga 12 is though. Might look into it more.
