I just found out I can get the x5 tungsten grip module for under $300, it would be a good way to see if I really want to run it like that, then do the trigger and then if I want to I can have the slide cut/treat it like a Gucci glock.

The CORE series/performance center seems to have good value as well, I may try to find one of them used or on sale.

That was an option I totally forgot about. Definitely give that a try, it'll be a good way to check if the extra weight helps you run the gun.

I think that’s a great way to sum it up. It’s even more noticeable in things like led off road lights. Obviously not a scope but it supports the point and is a really obvious example watching this forum. 3” cube lights or a 30” light bar are all but identical across multiple brands. You go cheap and you may end up with one that has moisture or bad leds. You could also end up with one that works perfectly for years on end. I could easily see how optics could follow that same pattern.

Well, they are expensive and a thing of beauty. Just went to the range with my buddy, his new to him 30 year old 41 and my new to me 2020 Buckmark UDX. I was thoroughly enjoying breaking in the Buckmark, which operated flawlessly through 200 rounds of various ammo, nice break in the trigger and more accurate than I was.........when my buddy said, wana try the 41?

What do you say, BMW to Ferrari, smooth as butter, comfortable as your favorite old boots and most likely worth it for the more than twice the price of the new BM. Perhaps the sweetest hand gun I've ever fired. When I remind myself that it is a low recoil 22 that is well balanced and a super quality, what did I expect. It seems like you need a driving force to spend the big money to plink and cut paper with the 41. I can run a lot of 22 rounds through the Buckmark for the difference in price and the Buckmark is a very nice handgun.

FN has a deal right now if you buy a FN 509 Tactical you get a free TLR-7 gun light. There is a deal right now for $655 for the gun. Super tempted! Any advice? Two buddies are saying do it!

Have you ever dry-fired one? I found the trigger to be very very subpar. Long, gritty, and heavy.

I have only held my buddies. Did some research and the trigger was the only complaint but is supposed to break in nicely.

and there is the Apex trigger option. I don't have much of an issue with the trigger on mine. But I need to compare it to some others.

Add primary machine to that list as well, they did my P07 so well I can remove the optic to replace the battery, pop it back on and it'll retain zero.

Thank you very much for the reply. I also have a buckmark that I purchased in1993. It's a great pistol. I do have a driving force behind buying this pistol, he's 13 and shoots in 4-h.

A little of this and a little of that.
    My F-I-L has a S&W model 41. It’s a great shooter, and I mean GREAT!
It has a very nice balance and sight picture. I’m 99% sure that his trigger is stock, and it’s spot on.

FWIW, if you have an opportunity to buy one that is in decent condition you should do it.

Anyone know what type of rail Springfield uses on their XD series pistols? Comparing it against my P320 it does not appear to be a true Picatinny. I searched both the website and manual and it is only described as “accessory rail”. I’m hoping it’s not proprietary, but I can’t find any info on it?

If I had to guess it's similar to the Glock "Universal" rail. Most rails are the same rough dimensions but may or may not have equal "land and groove" (for lack of a better term) spacing. TBH if lights don't mount to it that'd be grounds for me to sell the thing, but I doubt you'll have issues. Springfield doesn't have any incentive to hawk proprietary rails the way other companies do (looking at you, HK!)

What type of magazines are you using? Had so many jams with mine I stopped shooting it. Finally determined it was the BX 25 magazines. Easy fix now runs flawlessly.

    ^This.

It is a standard(ish) picatinny style. Depending which model, the “groves” will either have one or 2-3 slots. In my experience, anything designed for picatinny mounts just fine.

Butler Creek 25s and a few 10 cylinders. Took out out last weekend and ran like a top with copper jacketed rounds. Seems to not like lead pews.

Dude that was shooting with us had an adapter that links three 10s together in a triangle config. Pretty damn cool.

That's strange, I've had nothing but good luck with the BX25 in my 10/22. I did hear the BX15 was giving a number of people some issues though.

Glad you were able to solve the issue and get plinking one way or another.
