Picked up a poverty pony today, an Anderson AM 15 in 300blk and put a holosun red dot on it. Man this thing is fun to shoot. Local gun store had it for a “deal of the day” so I picked it up for $360 (used). Just a fun cheap gun to go to the range with.

Looking at a SIRT bolt for my SBR for dry fire and future integration with LASR X, is it worth the extra $60 for the green laser? They claim 200+ yard visibility through optic for green and only 50 yard visibility through optic for red.
I don't think it'll matter because the LASR X system will only be used indoors.

Also, is there a better laser/trigger reset option than SIRT? the SIRT pistols aren't cheap.

I would question the practicality at that distance. Will you be able to see it? How much larger is the dot going to be? Generally, I thought they get bigger as the target gets further from the source, but I could be wrong with quality high end stuff. Also the laser is going straight out, so by 20 yards point of aim isn't point of impact depending on what you are trying to hit.

I don't have any place in my house with more than 10 yards line of sight, I doubt I ever use it outdoors and if I did it would be in my back yard at night, no more than 30 yards outside.
I didn't see a need for the green laser but thought I would double check.

I was given primary arms red dot but my AK came with T1 rail. Is there an adapter or something to make it fit? Aimpoint T1 to picatinni.

Anybody have any experience with a Ruger SR22? I'm thinking about getting one so my son can plink with it. Are they finicky on what ammo they eat?

My parents have 2, one for my mom and one for dad, they both have probably 400-500 rounds through each and they’re pretty good, dads has a few failures to extract but I think it’s because he hasn’t cleaned it.
I’ve run CCI standard, Geco Match (bolt rifle), and bulk ammo through them and they do well.

    Thanks for the info!

We've shot this Browning Buckmark I've had since 1993 a couple times. This was yesterday, only his second time shooting a pistol. He's doing good to be 7.

I'm looking for a change. I like my CZ, it shoots well and can be great for small steel comparatively far away, but I built it before I knew what I wanted from a carry gun or why I wanted it. It's cajunized for good trigger action, the optic aids in accuracy, small size is pretty concealable. But I keep finding that it is just a bit more every time. Extra money in the trigger, and being DA/SA is still more training to overcome the shortcomings of a DA>SA transition. The PL-Mini is nice, but has already started breaking after a year. The Viper is functional, but a 14hr auto-off means I've always gotta check if it's on or reset the timer when holstering. The milling is only suitable for a Viper, so it's not something I can swap for an optic i like more. The thing weighs 28oz naked, which is a brute for the size class. Holsters are all custom, and retention holsters for an optic equipped P07 dont exist to do 2gun or 3gun competition work, so I need to fabricobble my own. It's just a bit more stuff to work around, for what is ultimately decent gun.

Comparatively, a G19.5 MOS has a dead simple trigger with acceptable pull, weighs 21oz, fits my hand well enough, can be outfitted with an array of optics, is smaller, shoots just a tad softer, and outfitted with a TLR1 or X300 will be utterly bomb-proof. The availability of off-the-shelf holsters in both retention and concealment forms is stellar, and available in quick-ship forms. There's just less to it, which means competition is more fun and EDC less of a pain.

All of this has me thinking about selling the P07 to fund a G19.5. It's simpler, more fool proof, and lighter. If anybody has input I'd love it. Pic of CZ below.

I owned one a couple of years ago. Handled bulk pack federal just fine. Little finicky with other brands with FTF’s and FTE’s. Main reason I got rid of it was when I mounted my dead air mask, POI was so far off I ran out of adjustment with my irons.

    Rant....

Just got back from the range and was assigned lane #1 (out of 7). All 7 were occupied. Some dude in lane #4 (smack in the middle) had a green laser on whatever he was shooting.

Through the course of the hour, that laser appeared on every target in every lane (that's all I observed). Was like a laser light show.

Not sure why the RSO didn't speak up.

Maybe he was enjoying the show? :notsure:

Have seen range officers avoid confrontations for the some purpose of not having to deal with idiots.
