Start with a good lower and have fun do research on parts and goodies but don't make it a Gucci gun....

Stick with basics and don't over complicate the gun remember it is a defense firearm good sights, red dot, simple rail system.

i used a rustolem self etching primer first. On everything. Then used krylon camo. I sprayed the self etching primer directly on after cleaning of course. Then sprayed the krylon onto a sponge and dabbed it over the gun. Turned out pretty well. Ill see how it holds. I thought about putting a flat sealer on it but i kind of like the battle worn look. So i wouldnt mind some wear marks if it happens to acquire some.

    Thanks man!

I'm a big fan of the M4E1 builder sets. They use some design changes that make them easier to piece together, and offer a matched upper/lower/handguard system that's hard to screw up.

If I was to build one again (and this is the basis for what I'll build next), I'd run a Faxon 16" Pencil barrel, Faxon BCG, A2 flash hider, Aero 12" MLOK Builder set, LaRue MBT-2S trigger, Aero LPK, Magpul MOE grip, Radian Raptor Selector/safety, Geissele Super charging handle or Radian charging handle, Magpul PMAG, Armaspec SCS, and whatever Magpul stock suited my fancy. It's a setup that is dependable, serves as a great base for optics or irons, and most importantly is light enough to be carried anywhere easily, or made only moderately heavy after adding lights/grips/slings/scopes/etc.

    Edit: MOE to MLOK

Yep, I used an Aero M4E1 complete upper for a build, Worked out very nice! I did have to send back one of their pop-up sights but they replaced promptly.

Thanks for the links. I was just looking at the SnapSafe Large Safe last night. I even got the measuring tape out and measured under my bed.

I did look at the Buffalo one also but the reviews are mixed. SnapSafe definitely has better reviews.

    Appreciate the info/recommendations
