They can. Depends on which suppressor, who's selling them & how they file. You can get 22 suppressors for under $200 or my friends at Thunder Beast Arms have suppressors that cost 10x that amount. If you file as an individual it takes longer than eFiling as a Trust. I've got three NFA forms pending that will likely take well in excess of a year because I keep all my NFA items in my name. The current NFA process is a joke & not getting any better. It's pointless too.

A good personal defense round IS a hollow point.

A good hollow point for personal defense purposes, especially for smaller firearms that tend to have steeper feed ramps is Hornady Critical Defense.

Whatever round you decide on I recommend running a minimum of 250rds in all conditions to confirm reliability before trusting lives to it.

So you are saying a human life is the equivalent to the statistical analysis from 250 rounds? Interesting.

    Yes, that's critical defense.

No, I'm saying that most agencies require 100-150rds fired through a weapon after you have it serviced or change something to assure that it's reliable enough for duty. Personally, I think that's a bit light and especially if you're talking an all-new carry round in an unproven firearm that is known to have potential issues. Not sure how I'm assigning a round count or dollar figure to a human life or even what your point is really. I suggested running 250rds (minimum) of a certain carry ammo through a firearm to make sure it's a reliable combination.

    Lucky!

On the topic of defense rounds, I've been carrying that Liberty Ammo USM4 9mm in my M&P. No issues yet, but fwiw I am about to switch back to critical defense just because it's a proven round and I don't fully trust the Liberty yet.

I also agree w/ the previous NFA statements!

No way in hell would I ever carry that crap ammo for self defense. Talk about marketing hype. Don't fall for marketing hype and stick with tried and true proven rounds for self defense. Do your research from independent sources and you'll see that it's pretty unanimous that that round is garbage.

Definitely agree with you there. Completely took the bait on that one, and almost went for that R.I.P. Ammo that was in the lime light for a while. Glad I didn't.

I've had to take down some critters, rodents, etc around the house and was EXTREMELY unimpressed w/ the Liberty. Took way more rounds than it should have.

Then again I may not be as good of a shot as I thought I was lol. ;)

Just give me back my critical defense haha

Good lord, 2 years would be unbearable. I'm 7.5 months into a ~10 month wait for my latest can. So close I can taste it.

I bought 6 boxes of Winchester Ranger T +P 124 gr 9mm a few years ago and have been carrying with it, but now that I have a 45 for a bedside gun I like the HST stuff. Seems legit.

I,ll buy Ranger T, Gold Dots or HST whichever I find a good deal on. I don't really have a preference out of the three.

Those are all three solid rounds that I've carried at one time or another. I've been pretty loyal to the Critical Defense since they came out though but you really can't do wrong with any of the above so long as your firearm eats them fine.

Pic of some rounds I've tested, the HST is a outstanding round, IMO only thing with an edge up on HST is the DPX solid copper rounds, all the Winchester Ranger T's I've tested works great in bare gel, put denim in the front and it fails to expand.. All rounds pictured are in .45acp...

I have underwood 147 grain +P (not the +P+) JHP for my M&P9 as defense ammo, although I haven't run much of that through yet. Don't have any defense rounds yet for PPQ .40

Will do, I was going to snap a pic tonight and post it in the 'show off your guns' thread. There was a lot going on at home when I got back last night so I wasn't able to do anything with it except put it in the safe but I had to tell someone about it!

I traded my freshly built AR for it. It came with new grips, the original box, 2 mags, the bushing tool and an IWB holster although I think it's too big for me to ever carry and have a chance of concealing.

EDTI: Forgot he texted a picture to me before we met up
