Appendix being the front, correct? Would that be considered the '12 o'clock' position also?

Correct. I can’t speak for everyone but I think it’s more the 1 o clock position. In between my zipper and my right pocket.

Ahhh. For me it took the right holster to be able to appendix carry comfortably. Plus I’ve read it’s more comfortable for lean people. I’m 165 6’ tall so a pretty skinny frame. 4-5 is a good carry place too though.

For me that JM one was a game changer. I’m sure the gun size dictates comfort as well. I carry a m&p shield so it’s pretty small and thin.

I can carry appendix when I’m wearing my jeans that have a little stretch in them, it’s actually super comfortable even with my gut, the issue comes when o sit down because the grip and rear of the slide jut up and print extremely bad. Hence I wear appendix if I’m going to be sitting in the truck most of the day or if I’m just running out to get drive through errands, otherwise it’s 3:30-4:00 for me.

I saw a video that shown it wasn't just for lean people. If the holster is high enough above the belt line it's still ok for big belly people. Which makes sense when you don't have a rod deep down in your pants when you sit down. Can't remember where I saw the video. But fat guy showed it was comfortable for him.

100% true, I'm an "athletic" ( I say that in quotes because I run and go to the gym but I'm also fat) 290 and ~6'2" and he's essentially showing how I carry (I learned on my own, never seen the video before tonight) but described much better.

I'm familiar with John's work, I appreciate his experience and his critical thinking and especially his openness with his faith, the only video of his that I've disagreed with so far is not using a suppressor on a home defense carbine, I can see his points but I'd rather protect my hearing/keep my senses sharper and deal with the threat than potentially lose hearing and let my neighbors know about a shooting.

Well how do you (and anyone else reading this) feel about using electronic ear pro during a home defense situation? Im just starting to research this idea...

If you feel it’s a viable option for you go for it, when my dogs bark at 0200 it takes me long enough to put on my glasses and grab a light and my Glock 40 (like I did last night, my SBR still has the SIRT bolt in it from training) that I wouldn’t want to take extra time to put on ear pro.
Side note, I don’t own a pair of muffs, when I shoot it’s almost always suppressed so I just wear earbuds, when I shoot unsuppressed I have Surefire plugs that I use as my radio earpiece and I just wear those.
