I don't think there are any reputable people that will "paint" a 1911 for you especially in "chrome gold" which is an oxymoron to my brain.

You would probably be better off looking into plating services, find a gunsmith around your area and ask them who they recommend.

What's the price point for a basic setup for a 9mm? This is obviously a passion for you and you're capitalizing on this investment. But for a guy that would primarily like to reload home defense/target practice ammo, is there as much of a saving?

I think I recently paid .27 per round for some Federal 150 gr. TSJ. With things the way they are right now it was the most efficient deal. I know there are better deals buying in bulk, and buying cheaper types. Right now neither interest me. Maybe bulk later.....

I would like to look at reloading as an option though.
    Thanks.

This is one of 3 benches I have set up to reload and the newest. There is little to no cost savings in normal times (although now, I guarantee I am saving a ton of money) to load some handgun loads being like 9mm, although .357, .45, 10mm there are savings and figure I crank out 475-500 an hour.
I save a ton recycling my 223 brass and converting it to 300 Blackout because I only shoot suppressed and 220gr ain't cheap.
On another bench with a Dillon 1050 with a case feeder maybe up to 900 223 an hour?
The other presses I own are just single stage for .257, 3000wm, 7mm, 308, 6.5 mostly.

I may not save a lot money as much as I shoot, but reloading allows me to shoot more.
It's my Zen. Something I can do alone now that the kids are all gone and it keeps my mind off the troubles of the world outside of my walls.

If you want the most accuracy a rifle is capable of, you need to "work up a load" with incremental amounts of powder.
That's the reason I started reloading. Not for any savings, but for better performance.
Same rifle, best I could do at 100 yds on factory loads was cover 5 with a quarter. Tailor made load could cover 5 with a dime.

Well sure, saving money is a byproduct. I thought it was clear by my post that I love to load.
Of course I ladder load for certain rifle shoots to develop consistent and accurate shots. But, the majority of the many .cals I load for are just to plink and punch paper or steel.
I don't competition shoot for a living but I do compete in 1-3 long distance shoots a year, shoot USPSA on a team with buddies who just love to shoot and big game hunt in the West. I was also able to hunt this year in Africa with my wife and very satisfying that we shot our animals with our rifles with our loads.

    What animals did you take?

Re: fire - since all the BRs are on the second floor, I have several escape ropes handy. Not planning fighting any fires here, though, unless I'm awake in a kitchen. It's purely an evac mode. There's the oblig ones in the kitchen and by the grill, though. And if there's a fire I'm going to hit the garage and secure power.
