    Hey buddy

Haix makes a nice boot. A few of the guys at work have worn them.

Pretty much all our fire guys wear them. They're really comfy truly. Even more so than the Danner's. But Mine have a small tear in the seam that makes them not water proof. So they're my backup boot. I love how the Acadia's look though. Big fan of the military look vs gumbyboot.

Any room for a non FD guy to join this group? 29 year LEO here. 3 years undercover drug enforcement and past 21 years as a criminal investigator in a community near Chicago.

Yeah I won't buy a boot that isn't waterproof. Been to too many wrecks and had to stand in water to extricate to have to deal with that shit too.

I wear the navy issue Bates "rough out" boots I get them on the exchange website. I just leave stopper knots in the ends of the laces and slip them on & off. Super comfy. But they are suede so if you need to polish they're not for you.

Gear boots I have the globes they are freeking awesome compared to the old rubber boots! IMG_0003.jpgIMG_0004.jpg

For station shoes check out Redbacks. They have a blue edition for first responders that are light weight. Super high quality.

M.S.A. or SCOTT? In my old department we used M.S.A but the new department we use SCOTT. I personally prefer the M.S.A they seemed a lot lighter than these SCOTT packs.

The county I work for is #1 in the state of Florida for overdoses. We see this stuff all day everyday! We have only had one person get sent to the hospital for symptoms of a overdose. (Don't really believe said person but you never know.) But we don't have any special ppe for overdoses. We just wear gloves and we are fine. But we are told don't touch the stuff or play with it like some of the responder stories I have read about becoming patients themselves from it.

So just tell your workers to wear gloves and don't touch any substance on or near the patient and they should be fine.
