So to update: got transferred to the truck. Much better life IMHO. We run 3 ladders, and I'm lucky to be on the busiest. It's a 95' Mid-mount Pierce Tower. Truck is a POS, nowhere near the build quality that my Tacoma does... I like to call it the "Pierce of shit"

So far I've added an Advance folding bed cover and since removed it. Gave it to my son in Maine, he has an 05 2wd. GT perfect fit seat covers. Weathertech floor mats and window vent visors. Waag center brush/grill guard. Hose clamp tailgate mod. Turned off the seat belt chime. Added Ultra-Gauge. Trailer hitch. Softopper. Replaced sun visors with slide out style. Toyota bed extender. Had Firestone Destinations and now Michelin LTX AT2 in stock size. More mods to come; Fog lights, locking storage in bed, intermittent wipers. Now looking for Radio/HU upgrade. and maybe a lift way down the road.
Yeah. Worked on several Pierce engines and they all were junk. Shit broke everyday.
Now that Pierce builds crash trucks I'm stuck again on junk. We just got a new Oshkosh and the door open alarm wont shut off.

    Retired from EPFD 28.5 yrs.
I rode or drove pumpers, ladders, rescues (4dr truck in our dept in the old days) & only drove the Ambulance.
Best job in my career was driving the pumper, running the pump.
Never cared much being on a ladder company,
Over all best job in the world

Gotta love it though being able to try out different areas. I run on an engine company and tower, just depends on the call. 1 company two rigs. I'm sure I'll be going to a strictly engine company next year because I was on a truck last year, the tower and engine this year so history shows I'm going to a strictly engine company. Which I'm fine with I've always said as long say pay check keeps coming I don't care what station I'm at.
