Nice. Work for CALFIRE in Mendocino. Good gig. Can't complain. Except missing a good fire burning in Lake County. Guess they dropped the DC-10 on it. You guys were burning over there earlier this year pretty good. Missed out on that also.

Ya, I missed out on it too. My engine doesnt move much. I was on the lightning complex in communications for like 21 days, then get back to my station and busted a nice 50 acre fire the day before I go home. I think it could be a very rough next month for the whole state.

Volunteer firefighter here for Merced Co./CalFire. 2008 Rugged Trail Double Cab 4x4. I voted no on the poll because my full-time gig is a landuse planner but I could've gone either way I guess lol

    My hero brother...Squad 18, NYC.

Squad 18 is one of only 5 rescue companies in the city. One of these companies is present at EVERY call the NYFD gets. Rescuing other firefighters, people under trains, people down elevator shafts, window cleaners hanging by a thread outside 40-story buildings, that kind of stuff...

After 9/11, they eventually found the truck from his old firehouse NINE STORIES underground.

Your brother is a true hero, but i'm sure you already know that. Those guys are the reason I got into firefighting. I'm sure your brother was an excellent man and an excellent firefighter.
