I got a sweet deal at a local tire shop for sum Firestone Destination A/T's 285/70/17's mounted and balanced for $690. But before i decide to purchase them can anyone running these tires offer me some advise as for their performance on and off road, noise level, wear... Some pics pf your setup would be nice too. Thanks.

I ran them for a few thousand miles and thought they performed very well. Got bigger rims and diff tires after that so I can't comment on treadwear.

I've got 15K on mine and I like them. Wear seems good and the price was right. Those Goodyear Duratracs look good too.

I have 275/70/17, but only have about 200 miles on them, but no complaints. Do a search on them and there's plenty of good reviews on them. That's what made me decide on them, especially for the price.

I have the Destination 265/70/17's on mine. Only have 2000 miles on them so can't speak to wear. Didn't really notice increase in noise. I really like them. Did well in snow.

I can vouch for the Firestones. I have had them for almost 10k miles and they have seen every terrain and done just fine. We even got snow in SC, which I was never expecting, and they did excellent. They kept this prerunner grounded and steady. Tread wear so far is excellent. The only bad thing I dont like so far is that they dont look as aggressive as the duratracsor bfgs. I would buy the bfgs or duratracs as my next tire, but not because of under performance by the destinations. Just because other tires have also had awesome reviews and look a bit beefier. just my .02.

I've had them on my "compare list" for a while now. My only complaint is that for an A/T they look an awful lot like a regular highway tire. Other than that they get great reviews and seem to be quite good for the money.

Not even remotely true but good try (not really).

I've had mine for almost 30K miles and they've been great. I posted a thread a while back about the Dec 19 east coast blizzard I drove through in which these tires performed admirably. Lots of tread left, quiet on the road, and good traction in the little offroading I've done.

Here they are on Tire Rack in second place among A/T tires (they go back and forth between 1 and 2): http://www.tirerack.com/tires/surveyresults/surveydisplay.jsp?type=ORAT

How would he be saving money when the BFG's cost a couple hundred more and offer no better performance?

Oh, and one other thing: I got mine for $504 installed from the local Firestone shop. Can't beat that with a stick.

Hell that a great deal.. TireRack alone wants $534.00 shipped now.. plus I have to pay $20.00 a tire to mount and balance... Maybe my local Firestone dealer can do better.. I need new rubber this Spring.. I'm going with my stock size 265-70-16
