I went from a 265x75r16 Nitto Trail Grappler MT to a 285 in these. I can honestly say due to the weight ratios of the two tires and size I haven't seen a decrease in fuel economy.I haven't calculated the mpg but I'm prob right around 17mpg most of my driving is on the highway and these are also quiet tires.

I'm on 35's so MPG don't really matter until I regear.

I went from the stock 265s to the 285s in the mt/2 and really havent noticed much of a difference in mpg

They make a 295/70/17 that is a 33.5 and a 315/70/17 that is only a 34.4. Unless you just really want the tall and skinny look, surely one of those sizes could work for you?

I like the width of my 285/70/17 at 11.2” I just think the 285/75/17 is the perfect size keeping the 11.2” width but giving you a 33.8” tall instead of the 32.7 with the 285:70/17.

Gotcha, although shorter, the 295 being 5mm per side wider than a 285 would hardly be noticeable at less than a 1/4" difference. I'd love a 295/75/17!

Anyone wanting these tires simple tire has them cheap, plus 5% off and free shipping. I just picked up 5 - 285s for $1,050. Can't beat that.

Just got them put on today finally.
So much fuel efficiency and low rolling resistance.

Hey man! Ive put only about 7,000 miles on them so far. They are on my second gen trd sport. Lately its been just sittin in the driveway and Ive been driving my 3rd gen offroad. The mt/2 are great still. Never had a problem with them and they are still the quietest mt ive ever owned. Plus you cant beat the price. I was going to put a set on my 3rd gen as well but I do drive alot for work so I decided on duractracs instead just cause they have a 50,000 mile wear rating. Ive had the bfg ko2s and I like the duratracs a hell of a lot better. If I were you, and I was looking for a mt id go with the mt/2. The only other tire Id say that would be looking into in the new bfg km3 that hasnt been released yet. You can bet those things are going to be exspensive as hell though. Good luck bud on your decision.

I'm a big fan of Firestone tires, I'm running Destination ATs and it's a damn good tire. Ill be looking for new tires next year and I love the look of these MTs even though it's way more tire than I need. My only worry is how they handle in the snow.

Great tire ran them for the last 6 months traveling 300 miles a week minium wear on tire. The fuel economy in 285x75r16 mt2 was the same as my nittos 265x75r16 and the noise level from the mt2 was quieter.
