I am thinking of getting a set of ride rites. I live in VT. Wondering how they hold up in the winter weather with the salt. Thanks

If they are made with the same material as the air suspension on 18 wheelers (and I think they are, based on their website), then you will have no problem. I have been from Miami to Maine, and all the way to California in a tractor trailer. Never had a problem with them. Only thing I would recommend is to wash them to get the salt off when you can.

Only had mine on for 2 winters so far, but was under the truck last week and they still looked brand new.

Sorry to Hijack, but will a set of those on the back make for a "Smoother" highway ride or should I go with 5100 in the rear. I dont do any off-roading, only long highway rides with a motorcycle in the back. I want the "Smoothest" cadilac type ride I can get LOL

    * I have Stock OEM Suspention currently and stock 265/60/18 Wheels

I have them and they have been through quite a few northern canadian winters now full of salted and gravelled roads, no issues yet!

Yes and no. They basically augment your stock springs to help hold up the back end, giving you a stiffer ride for a given payload.

On the plus side, they help keep you up off the bump stops and let you use the full range of suspension travel regardless of how much payload you're carrying.

The cool thing is that they are adjustable, so your truck can ride almost the same whether you're carrying your motorcycle back there or have an empty bed. Compared to add-a-leafs that help you carry more payload but can be harsh when running empty.

From what I understand, 5100's in the rear won't make much difference if you're not lifting the truck and only driving on the highway.

I've been thinking about these myself since I spend a lot of time with 2 bikes in the bed.

I actually worry more about the piece of the frame where the mounting bolt goes through being a salt and dirt trap after the ride rites are installed. ( I'm talking about the area around that little cup thingy above the rear tire on the outside of the frame) I hose that spot out every time I wash the truck and theres always a lot of dirt and debris that comes out of there. Looks like a great spot for rust to start...Do the ride rite mounts block that area at all? Looks like it would make cleaning that area diffficult...

It's not totally blocked from allowing water to penetrate. Before it was possible to put your finger in there and scoop out some crud. Now it is partially blocked. If you had a hose you shoot water in it and it'll blast around all that. There is just a bracket that bolts in there, but it doesn't fully seal it in.

You can still flush it out with a hose.
