I am installing some off-road lights on an Avid light bar. Is there a spot in the firewall to pass the wires through, or am I going to have to drill one?

Behind the brake pedal there is a rubber grommet.

Most of the threads I've seen people use a coat hanger and put the new wires through in a location that already has wires passing through

On the passenger side there's a rubber grommet that you can remove and put a slice in. Then you can add wires through the hole and slide the grommet back into place. It's about 10 -12 inches down from top of the firewall behind the glove compartment.

Below the driver's side grommet, is a smaller grommet that is closed shut. its about 3/4" diameter. you can cut it at a rib near the tip on the engine side. then you can run your wiring through there.

This is what I did, shove a coat hanger through where the wires already come through, tape my wires onto the hanger and pull them through. I squirted from RTV in afterwards for good measure. A local member found a rubber grommet at the top, driver's side, it's hidden behind something but it's nice and concealed.
