:rant::annoyed: The Tacoma is not a car!! This "stiff" ride that is being mentioned is quite puzzling. I have never encountered such nonsense. For a truck the Tacoma rides extremely smooth. If a car-like ride is wanted ----- go buy a car!!! The Toytec lift does provide a better-than-stock ride.

I wonder if Toyota is putting the four leaf pack on the 2010 tacos? We can match up the TSB wana's with the TSB don't wana's.

In my opinion, the Tacoma rides pretty 'plush' for a truck. I think its about as good as you're gonna get. Any suspension upgrades and you will likely get an even firmer ride.

This thread is shaping up nicely. Overall I'm very satisfied with the great feedback. A few of you guys really know your toyota trucks inside and out.

    History, over the past 10 yrs I've owned a 99 F-250 (5.5" ProComp Lift, 35s), 03 F-150 (7" FabTec, 35's), 06 F-150 FX4 (stock). The taco rides like my F-250 post lift, harsh. The F-150's were solid and smooth.

    Thanks.

Maybe you can downgrade to the Sr5 Tokico shocks, I had them and they are not as firm as the TRD Bilsteins.

Haha...F150. Dude is comparing Ford full sizes to the Tacoma. I think the Tampon Holder needs a companion: the Tissue Holder.

Yup, we can lock this now.

    That's what she said.

I went from an Infiniti G35 coupe and the truck is a little more stiff overall.. sorta... I guess. The front still has IFS (independent front suspension) but the rear is leaf. With the TSB set (4 leaf pack) it stiffened it up... but it rides how a truck should. The G35 was also pretty stiff (lowered too) so... it doesn't really bother me much. I'd let it settle for a bit first. Mine did seam to tame down after about 4-4.5k miles a bit. You can throw some weight in the bed to help break the leaf springs in too. After awhile you'll get used to it... if you don't then try some other suspension components...

Point of reference: My daily driver is a 1 ton van. My 09 Tacoma rides rougher than my van.....But the Tacoma never bottoms out...
Anyhow, if you have a Tacoma with the 4 leaf pack, the ride is quite firm. Double check your tire pressure. If you are driving unloaded, you could drop the rear tires to 28 psi, and the fronts to 30 psi. Helps a lot.

So how does adding a leaf and putting way stiffer springs up front make it as smooth as butter?

Well this can probably handle more weight in the trunk than the taco can in it's bed...

My initial impression of the Tacoma Access cab after my first "test drive" was that it rode quite nice for a pickup truck, and felt extreemly solid and well mannered. (again for a pickup truck)

My daily driver before was a Subaru Legecy GT Turbo, which had what I would describe as a firm, but not unpleasant ride, and an R Model Mack which is FAR from plush. ;)

Again, the Taco's ride pretty decent for a stock pickup truck IMO.

    DRIVE IT!

I have an 09, took it wheeling recently and "stretched" the stock suspension. I swear it is improved after being rough on it. I do have the TSB rear end and tow frequently. Use it like a truck, and it should smooth up just fine.

I had an 07 SR5.. got the tsb done, and it never did smooth out before I traded it for 4x4 TRD.
