Firm up the rear end

    I want to firm up the rear end of my 2010 V6. Pretty bouncy with my 2950lb trailer hooked up. What are my options? Shocks..leafs..air bags? I think my rear stock shocks are currently a little soft.

    If it’s “bouncy” the problem may likely be your shocks are shot. Have the shocks on your 2010 ever been replaced? I pull a 3500 lb boat and recently put a new set of Bilstein 4600 heavy duty shocks on. Difference is amazing with the new shocks. If your truck isn’t lifted get a set of Bilstein 4600’s. They are the same as 5100’s but for trucks that are not lifted.

    I'm changing out my leef lac in the rear too. The canopy along sags the back a little.

    If by “bouncing” you mean porpoising, then a weight distributing hitch will help the most. If you have one already then like others have said, check your shocks, upgrade your shocks, sumo springs...

    The 4600's are in. What a difference. I haven't towed with them yet but they ride and handle so much better than my old ones. Next up Sumo Springs.

    Sumo Springs in. Will tow the trailer tomorrow to see how much of a difference this made. I'm thinking it will be substantial.

    I liked my Firestone air bags when I had the Taco. The problem with springs or shocks or anything else is when you aren't hauling it's too stiff a ride. The airbags can be put low enough that it's like going back to stock.

    Tows much better. Need to adjust the WD hitch but otherwise these upgrades seem to have helped.
