I bought the TRD front brake pads, front steel braided brake lines and dot 4 fluid. I'm planning on flushing the brake fluid and installing the parts just to get a firmer brake pedal. This is for daily driving. I hardly go off-road or drive fast. The question I have is should I get the rear braided brake lines? My brakes are slightly spongy at the moment. I'm thinking about the pressure being applied to the front brakes and the rear still having the stock lines, might still be spongy. Your thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks, used to ride as well and I was thinking about when I changed my bikes brake lines but with bikes, we have two separate ways to apply the front and rear brakes. With the one pedal applying brakes to both front and back, I was thinking of the rear stock lines expanding when braking.

Braided brake lines is just a bling thing... and better abrasion resistance to the common hose it conceals.

I used it just for bling on my bike but I felt a noticeable difference. Without the lines expanding, more pressure can go to the calipers... in theory.

Braided lines are not for bling. Try bringing down a Porsche 993 from speed at Sebring turn 17. Your butt will be in the back of your throat. Lines are just a factor in the equation. Good pads, good fluid will be best defense. I ran speed bleeders on my sports cars and will install same on the Tacoma when the time comes. Fresh fluid is best and cheapest braking performance mod.

I think we all can agree that braided brake lines work but what do you guys think about getting the rear braided brake line?

Thank goodness. Alonso is all business. Best technical driver of the current bunch. If he can improve his rain game he will earn best f1 ever. Schumy still holds best rain driver. Mika hakonen close. Actually couthard was pretty good in the wets.

To op: Rear lines in forward motion. Given that 80% of braking in stock configuration goes to front as bias , one could assume that replacing frontal braking parts would solve issues aforementioned.

In a total. All force must equal. I found for instance, running sports cars that best brake bias was near 50/50. Being my Porsche was a 450 hp beast, my bias was 40/60. You really have to play with adjustable bias to dial in

I ran 40/60 because of staggered rears tires on a Porsche. Running A full 2" wider in back gave 50/50 balance on skid pads
