It might just be me but this is why I prefer servicing your own vehicle.

So I know it's free comp 2 year service but dammm atleast do a good job. In the report it shows the they visually inspected front and rear brakes but if you look at my lug nuts looks like they didn't even touch the lugs. So I guess visually inspect means just literally look at it I guess anybody can be a technician :annoyed:. And I see that they added 1/2 quart of transmission oil makes me really wonder did they really add or did they just say they did. Anybody ever had a bad experience with there service. Rant over thanks lol

I asked them to check mine when I went in, I told them I have a lurch when cold going from park to drive. they didn't check and if I continue to have them problem they might look at it.

Yes, anyone can be a service tech. Much like and apprenticeship an ASE certified mechanic(s) just need to be on the payroll to be a "guaranteed" Toyota service.

A visual inspection is just that, visual. If the brake pads can been seen from the inside the wheel itself, why remove the wheel to look? You didn't, or rather haven't complained of a brake problem. Why go through the effort of removing the wheel?

Not to mention you are being a bit subjective to both the thought of whether or not the tires were removed AND whether or not fluid was added to the transmission.

Sounds like sort of a witch hunt to me. Why burn the dealership at the stake when they have actually done anything other then what they said?

If you prefer to do your service, that's fully you're right. But are you not just "anybody" doing their own service like the tech back there?

They changed the oil. But didn't want to check trans fluid level. I also had them order me the rear driver side window trim. It doesn't fit well.

I've also been told this. But I pulled out the maintenance log that comes with the vehicle and told them that Toyota lists the oil change to be done. They actually did it as I marked the oil filter and requested the old parts back.

Yes, if the pads can be seen and measured without removing the wheel they won't take it off

You get two oil changes with the Toyota Care ... you can use them at 10k and 20k miles like Toyota recommends under normal use, but dealerships are happy to use em for you every 5k so you can start paying after the second one. Dealerships love your business, and when they get a customer who wants to change oil twice as often, they're perfectly happy to take the $.

Then they will take off 1 wheel and check the pad. Drums are different. They usually tend to do off age or mileage before the open one of those up. Or until the start squeaking
