The car is a 1999 5 Speed 4 cyclinder tacoma.

The engine bay was dirty so i unplug the battery, cover the alternater. hose down the engine bay. in the morning when I drove the car. I notice that when in gear, the stick shift shakes like crazy and the engine check light is blinking none stop. My only idea now is maybe there is a short somewhere.

anybody have some ideas what could cause the gear to shake like this.

Acts like its missing badly (due to water being where it shouldn't be ?). Go to Autozone and and get the trouble code read. That will narrow it down.

problem solved, water got into the spark plug. engine code was for misfire. I replace the spark at the same since it was old and out of spec.

    thanks guys.
