I just checked out a droid forum. What your saying makes sense. Why add another program to kill the task when I can already do that now within my phone settings. All I gotta do is add a shortcut. I'll try that out and see what happens. Thanks!

Thinking back I do believe the battery life extending was a coincidence. I had just downloaded the app and my batt life improved. But at the same time I changed my work email to sync when I hit the button.

I put app killer on it and killed like 10 things. I will see how the battery does. I noticed when I killed everything it kills advanced app killer if i have it checked...therefore no battery use

I know you can.. But I have never messed with that stuff. I would check out an android forum and see if it is very difficult.

I actually have a jeep now. Imagine that.
now your phone is going to use more battery because those apps will open in the background without you knowing and have to update every time they open. Trust me, i used to mess with task killers and it was a never ending battle keeping things shut down. Just change update settings and don't fool with it.

Main culprits for battery usage are update frequency/quantity, roaming, and gps.

Yea the phone was staying pretty hot. I have not touched it or played with it for about 30 min and it is cool like normal. But as I was using it and playing with it some it gets really hot!

If you get better battery life with an app killer then all you are doing is killing off a bad program or one that requests data from the network on an interval. Once you find the app causing the problem then get rid of the task killer. You dont need it. The apps that are "running" are not actually running. They are simply sitting in memory and not using CPU clock cycles. This is not windows. Android is very good at managing memory and CPU usage. App killers tend to kill off critical system processes and cause more problems then good. I struggled with letting go of my app killer at first because i came from BB and Winmo, but i finally did and have never looked back. No difference in battery life with the app killer.

I use Free task Manager Advanced (moto milestone/droid) . I use it properly and it works great. I press the little shortcut and voila, the my bogged down phone is quick again. As far as battery, every time i'm in the car its on the charger, that helped me out a lot.

I am only syncing email automatically, everything else is manual. Oh and weather is every 3 hours!

X whatever against the App killers. I had it on my phone, and after 7 hours, my batt. was at 30%. I removed it, and lengthened the time my shit syncs., and now, after 14 hours, its still at 79%.

I tried a battery thing and I am testing today to see how it does.

    1) Turn your device ON and Charge the device for 8 hours or more 2) Unplug the device and Turn the phone OFF and charge for 1 hour 3) Unplug the device Turn ON wait 2 minutes and Turn OFF and charge for another hour Your battery life should almost double

Anyone else got any more tricks?

After doing the trick my phone started out with 96% battery(idk why it want do %100) at 9:35. Now after a few text, emails sync every 30 min, and one phone call I got 89%. Before the 2 min phone call it was at 91%.
