285/75r16 KO2's, Baja XL 80's on CBI ditch brackets, TRD intake, opticoat pro, clear bra running the bottom sides, morimoto LEDs, all white LEDs inside, mounted shovel and axe above wheel well in the bed, linex'd the bed...
Going up with a TRD Pro running 285/75r16s and a stock TRD Sport with 265's.

Looking for somewhat of a challenge and great scenery. Headed up Friday night and plan on staying until Sunday. Camping Friday and Saturday night.

Want to avoid any trails with heavy brush and anything that would require sliders.

    Trail and camping spot recommendations?!

There are some great yellowpost campsites that you have to go up into the mountain a little bit to get to. Nice scenery and secluded

    https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=1Vhixi7VMpOUq2JHhzgPA9Hb8sOY&ie=UTF8&oe=UTF8&msa=0&ll=34.23390813066672,-116.89933250000001&z=10

As far as nice trails that don't require sliders, all of Holcomb Valley trail is nice.
Here is a list of trails up there with their accompanying trail ratings

    http://www.dirtopia.com/wiki/Big_Bear

Very fun place to be. I love Big Bear. Definitely wouldn't recommend Gold Mountain without sliders. Lots of ledges and stuff to beat your truck up especially at the beginning of the trail heading up.

Here is my buddy standing next to the ledges for size comparison. Photo does them no justice

Thanks been looking at dirtopia and watching on YouTube.

Probably go to stick to the blue trails but wanted to hit a black. Any blacks on dirtopia that are manageable?

Gold mountain was even tough on my KTM

Not my vid but I rode mostly hard trails that day, couple jeeps on the rough stuff

Went up Tip-Top mountain a few months back when there was still snow. Decent run, icy in parts, but I double you'll have any problems this time of year. Had a stock Mercedes ML with us, did fine. Some parts were rutted out pretty good, the ML bottomed out a few times, but no damage.

    See my sig for mods
Holcomb Valley Rd off of Hwy 18 at the north east end of the Big Bear valley.

Used to live in Socal, and grandpa and grandma lived in Big Bear for quite a few years, and me, my dad and my grandpa used to go 4 wheeling up in Holcomb Valley a lot.

Were you talking about Holcomb creek trail? It shows it as black but it's for sure manageable without sliders??

Awesome rig by the way man!! So sick

You could run Jacoby Canyon without sliders. Could even pull off White Mountian if you're careful with line choice.

Rowher Flats would be perfect for you to run some black diamond trails. You're buddy could run them too with some good spotting and plenty of skinny pedal.

Definitely don't run Gold Mountain or Holcomb Creek trails without sliders.

    Thanks!

Think I'll for sure hit white mountain and jacoby.

    Haven't seen rowher on dirtopia - http://www.dirtopia.com/wiki/Big_Bear

    How is that trail?

It's a great place to wheel black diamond with a stock rig!

Search it within the forum and you should be able to find lot's of info.

The two trails are "Rowher 4x4" and "Lookout"

I think there may be an annual run there this month?
