Living in the same enviroment , I'm sure you understood what I meant.
I should have specified the Southern states as being opinionated (without experience of what snow and ice are really all about).

In the North East we can typicaly get 5 to 6 feet of snow through a usual winter...
Thats apart from the freezing rain in spring.

NO, CO, are good cadidates to comment not doubt about that!...

Why dont they just make a "auto" mode as well ..wouldn't that make more sense instead? So that way, you still have 2WD/4WD options which the user can manually switch to or leave it in "auto" mode to take out the guess work in these conditions?

I took my wife's Denali last winter to Tahoe in a blizzard and left it in "auto" mode the whole time and no issues. Same thing with my X5 that has taken yearly winter trips from Sacramento to Oregon over Mt Shasta in snow and no issues (it's full time auto 4wd).

Just toss it in 4hi and try to turn tightly, like out of a parking space. You’ll feel the resistance to movement, I guess it could be described as like having a chock block up against one front tire.

Once scraped my rear window stays clear.

Use an ice scraper on the outside,...and turn the heating up in the cab with the A/C on.
The a/c dries the air coming into the cab.
Also, don't use the recirculation button if you're in the cab (should only be used during warm up if you have a remote start or while you're removing snow off the truck).

We have a storm rollin in tonight. My plan is to take my 14 year old daughter up to the empty lot at her school and then first teach her how to drive a manual. Than I’m going to teach her how to do figure 8’s. :burnrubber:

That’s for fancy trucks like 4Runner limited and GMC Denali. Our humble tacos just have to stick to :mudding:

I can’t relate to Canada but I agree with you in the sense that I live in Akron, maybe 45 miles from Lake Erie. We’ll get 1”. I drive into the snow belt for work. Up there will get 5-7”...almost everyday...for 5 months...there is snowy roads and there are roads underneath a foot and a half of snow. The lake effect is crazy. Buffalo, NY is bad as well. I’ve bought 10 sets of Blizzaks over the years on the front wheel drive cars. Didnt have plans for 2 sets on the Tacoma yet. We’ll see I guess. Today turned out to be a bust. Lots of freezing rain but really not much accumulation. Thanks for the comments and advice.

Anybody east of Milwaukee can attest to the lake effect...
And yes, Buffalo get bitchen weather as well.

It's common for us to send snow plows and snow removal equipment south from Canada to help out when the weather gets beyond managable.

But hey, ther' aint any skeeters outside r:bananadance:ght!

Or move to California and you get all 4 seasons!! Well...plus the added benefits like ridiculously house prices, high cost of living, expensive $4/gallon gas prices and bumper to bumper daily commute! And now you can buy weed legally!! Oh. And when you buy a Taco , get ready to add at least $3k in added taxes :) and also hope that you don't get blindsided by a stupid CA driver that has driving in 3 hours of home commute!

I guarantee I would be doing donuts. And 4wd hi to work. We don't get enough snow here for anyone to be proficient at driving in it.
