First day in the sand with the taco

I'm kinda new to the forum. just got the truck about a month ago. put on some bilstein 5100's on and scored some 09 trd wheels and tires. i love the truck, its worlds better than the Cherokee i had previously. i dont have any big plans for it. trying to keep it mostly stock. i think the next step will be a touch screen nav in the radio din. we spend alot of time on the beach and the truck did great on its first run out. stayed at 30psi even.















overall we did good. slipped the clutch once climbing a dune in 4hi. that's expected after 100k on the stock clutch. airing down would have probably helped but it wasn't worth it. let me know what you guys think

Looks good- Those wheels look good on there.

Holding your 30PSI was daring...It always seems to be a pain in the ass to air down once you are stuck...even when it's a pain in the ass to air back up when you are done.

 

i kept mine at 30 psi when i go on the beach

 

thanks for the replys. we were in corolla, n.c. we have been riding the beach there and throughout the obx for almost 10 years. i wasent worried about the psi. i would stop and back out before i buried it. i love the wheels. the offset is lower so the track looks a bit narrower than stock but i still like it. i have a few more i'll put up later

 

Don't get me wrong- It can be done. I was wheeling today and I was @ 38...It was still daring for me to do it.

i dont know if you just misworded what you said but STAY THE FUCK OFF THE DUNES. it is ILLEGAL and a 5k ticket if the cops see. Also will get more of the beach shut down

You should probably calm down a bit. I'm not sure if you have ever been to corova beach but there are trails over the dunes that are perfectly legal to drive on/over. There are entire negiborhoods on the sand and the only way to get there is over the dunes on the trails. I know what I am doing down there and do my best to leave as small a footprint as possible while on the beach. But I do appreciate your concern for the environment

 

no i wont calm down and ill chalk this one up to a misspoke. those are part of the road yes i will give you that much. and the reason i say that is if you would actually watch the news or read the paper you would understand the concern that is given. if you remember not to long ago they found a horse that was stuck by a truck on the beach. and the tree huggers were trying to get the road shut down. i do not want to see it shut down and i can name about 100 other people that know that feel the same way that i do.
