Does anyone have experience with both 265s and 285s or 31s and 33s?

    I do but I have a V6 and I'm fine powewise/mpg wise because of 4.10s and a manual transmission.

But did you notice a power loss even if it wasnt bad? And what about the handling at highway speeds?

So I'm running a 2.5 inch lift on 266/75R16 got the 4banger Just like you and I think it looks perfect the tires arnt so big that it makes the truck look small and the 32's still lift the truck an extra inch so all together I gained a 4inch lift

Hard to get a nice picture

I noticed a power loss but I really don't notice it unless I really push into the gas pedal but I drive like an old lady so that rarely happens.

Handling at highway speeds seems about the same to me, not swerving over the road or anything, and the truck still drives straight and true.

Again, I don't drive it like a sports car, so I'm not trying to do crazy turns at crazy speeds.

Keep in mind I have 285/75/16s and have no experience with 12.5 wides. Also, this is just my opinion, but if you're not happy with the power loss, id just take the lift off and put 265s back on. Everyone uses their truck different; not everyone needs 33s.

Edit: Old but gold pic with my 285sIMG_3906.jpg

I'm in the same boat about removing everything but i was thinking its a good idea to just change the tires first to make sure i dont like that either

I'm not sure how to explain how I feel about it...

Power isn't bad, I mean I feel like I have a turbo some times ... Lol cause my truck won't move when going up a hill till it down shifts to 3500 Rpms and I'm goin from 55-70 up a hill real fast so I guess the power is fine but there's just no pull at all at a red light I have to hit it hard somtimes but all and all I've realized that I'm still getting good mpg and the power loss to me I suppose isn't enough for me to break down and buy a 3.4L just yet but I can for sure tell the truck needs a little more on the bottom end just to help it out

My old 01 4cyl 4x4 had 285/75/16s with a 3in spacer in the front and a 2in block in the rear and it was kinda slow to get going around town but it was good on soft sand. Handling wise it felt the same as having 265s.

These are some good looking trucks. I'll try to post a pic of mine on Monday with black rims, 33x12.50x15 KO2s, bilsteins all around with front at 2.5, and Wheelersoffroad 1.5" progressive aal

Here's mine with 5100's all around with stock coils and leafs (cuz I'm poor!). I'm roll'n 265/75/16 Grabbers + Method NV 16x8 wheels. Slight decrease in initial exceleration and MPG's because the tires are super heavy, handles well on the road though with plenty if zip. Mild pinch weld mod and Camburg UCA. I'm very happy with this set-up as I don't wheel too often and the truck is deceptively tall (perfect IMO). Need to eventually replace my leafs and will be looking to up-grade the shocks at that time; either Fox or Kings. I do not plan on going up in tire/wheel size when I do. Hope this helps!

I don't really notice a power difference. This thing is a dog unless I use the ETC button. I'm having trans fluid checked tomorrow. What I did notice is losing a little over 2 miles per gallon. I don't if some us because the speedometer is off.

OME 882s with Dakars sans AAL.

2.5" of lift on 265/75/16 duratracs stock wheels. I'm not going any bigger without regearing and different wheels. I notice steep trails are tougher to climb than with the super light 265/70 Toyo A/T2s that were on it when I bought is.
Ideally, I would like to run 285s for the offroad prowess, but I know they will affect the driving experience for sure. So 265s for now.

    V6 and 5spd btw
