Thanks! Can't decide if I want to do a white or red led. Does it have orange tint on the back of the "P R N D 3 2 L"?

It has an orange condom thingy on it... I went red LED. I have red everywhere but the glove box, and behind the stupid AC controls. I don't feel like pulling it apart again....yet.

can you take a pic of your shifter as its lit up? Id like to see the red. mines all red as well, but if the backside of the shifter panel is clear and not orange, then it might not look bad white.

If all good threads were made a sticky, we would have nothing to talk about. The search button has made this thread ongoing for over two years.

Not sure bout the backer to the of the P R N D 2 L. I think it's clear. The "N" is deff green though and illuminates darker than the rest. I really like the red..personally I didn't want white cause I do a lot of night driving and felt the white would be very distracting. I'm getting older and don't need to stress my eyes any more than I have to...lol

    Build page to begin soon...
I'm currently in the process of upgrading my interior lights. Went through the trouble of finding another hvac controller that doesn't have the orange paint on it. I have the red 4mm neo wedges installed but they are terribly spotty. Was wondering if anyone had any info on how to more evenly distribute the light behind the face plate as to avoid hot spots. I was considering either sanding the top of the led (its transparent clear all the way around) or taping/gluing something to the top of the bulb to reflect the light to the back of the housing to have it spread more evenly. FYI the microchip looking #74 bulb for the shifter doesn't fit snugly and is pretty loose. Superbright sells a wiring harness for a couple of dollars that you can splice in. Got this for the ring light mod as well.

Strange, because I have replaced them with a 74 micro wedge. Do you have a picture of the original bulb?

That is why I was wanting a picture of it. If I can get a picture, I can identify the correct LED bulb.
