    Okay, thread is back on.

Pineapple on pizza can actually be pretty tasty on the right pizza, you can fight me on that one.

I have a diff drop, I've also torn both boots. Doesn't seem to affect me as a DD, also doesn't seem worth it to buy if you don't already have one lol.

Also, going Kanaio on sunday, gonna be fishing. Had some good luck on new moon there!

Exaclty. I’m no mechanic. I’m just looking for a way to solve the cv boot issue. Sounds like the inner high angle boots will do the trick? You think this will solve the issue?

It's why they exist; they do solve the issue.

Well dang - I am doing the rack and pinion and I might as well take the diff drop off. And I'll doing it while eating some pizza with pineapple because that shits delicious. And add jalepenos.

Let me be the SEAL snipers to your cargo ship pirate here... :infantry:

Why so much hate for the diff drops. I don't even know who you are anymore. :D

@Kanaiokilla I'm going to stick my head out of the trenches here and offer a dissenting opinion about the diff drops.

I honestly don't see a problem with them. They of course don't return your CV angles back to stock (which seems like the main complaint about them), but they do make it better, and that's undeniable. It's a minor change, but a change for the better IMO.

My truck has yet to explode with one installed, as have many other trucks. So for $30, I say why not.

    But....

For something that "sometimes sees off road" I question the need for a lift in the first place.

Ya, I tore one boot down kanaio; then I tore another in kahakuloa. I then proceeded to ramble with torn boots for many months. Never even had any real issues with them other than losing all the grease. I've replaced them, along with most of my front end; but tearing a boot isn't the end of the world.

You're right, diffs aren't exploding due to the diff drop, but there seem to be more cons than pros when using one as stated above.

Not to mention, a lot of people seem to use them that are at a low enough lift to not even need them anyway such as being lifted only 2" because at 3" of lift, the ride quality is already getting pretty bad.

I purchased my pickup with a lift. Because it had NO Rust. lol and - as I get older I don't care about the lift as much. I have adjustable coilovers so I can go back to stock in the front but the back - is a different story.

That's why you should 4 link the back and put coils back there, too... It's easy!

    40's and tons baby!

haha 40's and tons F - that! If I had a k5 blazer with a healthy big block maybe - You did that to a 1st Gen taco and everything would break in a cascading affect. Ask me how I know lol

I guess I just haven't experienced any of the cons (yet?).

I was (slowly) building a new skid, so the lower clearance didn't affect me anyway, and even Ryan said his mount bushings are fine. I also don't remember having issues with the lower cam bolts, the way he did.

I do wish I would have taken measurements to know for sure, but I do remember seeing a difference in the CV angle with mine too. Not drastic, but it was something. Maybe it was psychosomatic, who knows...

I'd love an 80 series axle up front, and maybe a 1HD under the hood. That'd be cool. But I'd have to move to Australia, lol

I have the drop in and my stock skid plate. No issues at all. All mounted up. My CV boots don't rub (when engaged) no problems at all. But - when I do the rack i have to take the SOB off. Dilemmas ;)

Not the cam bolts, it's the long bolt that goes through the steering rack and holds one of the bushings in. Just grind down the flange if it doesn't clear, might depend on the drop too and how thick the spacers are
