First gen Extended Cab Topper/Camper shell

Looking into buying a topper for my 2000 extended cab and I'm curious how it would look. Anyone have any pictures of their first gens with toppers?

Cool. Both look good. Did you guys buy new or used? If you bought used, how hard was it to find one that matches the color?

 

bought both mine used. first one was that wierd purple color. stripped it down and then just tossed a coat or two on

second one I have now was already lunar mist

I also bought mine used. I couldn’t find and evergreen pearl shell so I got an imperial jade mica instead and it’s close enough for now.

Here is my 2000 SR5. The original owner had the shell custom painted (Cardinal Red) when he bought the truck new in 2000, and also added the Yakima rack.
It's been great for camping! I love it.

 

Glasstite shell with plastic slide in bedliner. Purchased new from Campway's in Hayward, Ca in 1999. I've had the window seals replaced after it came bulging out on the side windows and the front window seal was leaking. Repainted in 2018 after wear & tear from almost 20 years of use. I've had the left side shell window busted out in 2001 with my gear stolen. I'll probably install some metal cage on the windows and tint the rear windows.

I like the shell that you have on the truck. Is that a solar panel and an awning on the side of the truck?

 

Yup, it’s a 270 degree awning and a 100 watt panel.

I don’t have them but wish I did.

 

I have the camper ARE shell. My windows slide open and have a screen in them.
