I don’t have windows on my shell. I do sometimes wish I had some but I live in the center of a crime zone and I’d rather not have my truck get broken into.

I never leave anything in there but people just break windows for the hell of it over here

    Question for ya Joel!

Looking at a used 122 that doesn't have racks, and wanting to have a plan for adding some before I buy it. Is the highest roof area where you have your bars level or is it slightly lower in the front? do you have those on a track/rail system, or just bolted into the roof?

Planning on putting my rooftop box up there too, have you done that? Would it be like 100 feet tall and ridiculous at that point?

Any info or pictures would be much appreciated!

    Thanks in advance!

i actually don't like the look of the taller shells but i really appreciate the extra headroom when using the bed as a camper.

The 122 is not level in the back roof, it is tallest at the rear.

Since you have extended cab you can also fit a reg cab shell, it just pulls away around an inch at the top at the rear truck window and doesn’t look bad. But you can’t fit an ex-cab shell on a regular cab.

Sweet truck. How close are the tundra rim's to the upper control arm?? I thought about going that route.

Had to go back a bit. But it was a plastic camper. I would rock a shell but I'm to tall to sleep in the back with it closed .

I wish I did! I chose to skimp out and not order them and aftermarket is just too expensive at $400 a piece.

I have an ARE with the sliding windows too. Thing leaks like crazy from the windows. I've siliconed around them and taken them out and resealed with butyl tape and they still leak. Have you had any leaking issues?

Negative, mine leaks a little in one of the corners. I could probably lift it off the bed and reseal it and be fine but I’m just too lazy right now. That’s waaay down on the to do list. :p

@TacomaEli Mine only leaks on the corners where it meets the tailgate. I think because my bed had widened and I have gaps on both sides of my tailgate. Windows have never leaked. If you come up with a solution let me know in case mine start.

I absolutely love the windows on my shell. I got lucky and it came with my truck when I bought it.

Its especially nice for camping, but also just for organization.

I would have guessed no closer than than the stock rims (maybe 1/4").

I found this on another post in the Tundra forums but I don't know if it's 100% accurate

    The 17" wheels are 17x7.5 with a +18mm offset/5" BS

I would have to take measurements myself to confirm but I have 255's on and no rubbing or near UCA

mine is also leaking and I think it's down to the windows more than likely. I have a bead of silicone up front since there is a gap but I have "truck tape" over the rest. I can feel the carpet wet above so I can assume it's from higher up. I do think I need a new rear window seal but finding a local ARE supplier is scarce.

yes, but that's due to the 1" taller tires. If I ran stock it would be fine, but meh, I have a lift and stock looks goofy :)

I think mine leaks from the window and fills up the window track then leak into the metal piece of the shell where you clamp it to the bed and then drips on the bed. Just gotta figure out where that leak is coming from I guess. Frustrating

I like the look of the flat top shells but it's nice having the extra room back there with the raised shell
