hey all, newer member, first time posting, thanks in advance for any and all advice!

so, i have a '99 SR5 3.4L extended cab 4x4 automatic trans with 299K that i've slowly been doing a lot of the necessary maintenance on. making good progress. super fun, really love this little truck

it's acting like the motor mounts are worn so starting to research the job

interested in knowing a good choice for aftermarket mounts (OEM are like a hundred apiece)

what brand(s) and part #s do y'all recommend?

same with the trans mount (like 160 at the dealership yikes), which i'm planning to replace really just because it's probably 24 years old

    best,
    -John

Bought my Anchor ones from Rock Auto. Seemed to be made okay. Rock Auto also has Beck-Arnley ones for a little more money. These should last me awhile for as much as the truck is driven (5K a year). I was at 180K when I changed mine on my 1995.5. The Trans mount was shot, the motor mounts weren't too bad. Mine are a lot easier to change than yours since I have a 2.4L five lug - a lot less in the way the way and more room to work on the front ones. So, if they don't last long, it's a couple hour job in the garage.

I would advocate saving up to buy the OEM ones. Presumably the ones you have installed now are OEM, and the truck has made it ~300k with them. Hard to argue that $360 for another 300k miles ain't worth it. Even if the funds aren't there now, then I'd drive it on blown out mounts until they are. About a month ago replaced my trucks original motor mounts at ~285k miles with OEM replacements, but used an aftermarket trans mount (only because OEM trans mounts for the Xtra cab MTs with the V6 have been discontinued, and are unavailable everywhere). Low and behold and my transmission is clunking a month later and the RockAuto trans mount looks to be the culprit already.

thanks for the advice! i went ahead and ordered OEM parts online from a Toyota dealership in VA, and the prices were significantly lower, just under $275 shipped for the 3 mounts. they even double check against the VIN before sending

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Have you checked 4x inovations transmission mount for the 5 speed.

I have one for about 100,000 miles no issues much better then OEM easy to service if you ever need.

I have not, but I will now. Thank you for that information. Was pretty bummed when I had to settle, or rather thought I had to settle for a chincy RockAuto mount.

Yeah I think that exact same motor mount is used in volvos and/or Subaru's

Yep, same, anchor trans mount just came in today. Seem decently well built for 30 bucks
