First gen stereo receiver wiring question

Hey everybody, noob here. I just installed a new Kenwood KDC-155-U receiver in my '96 and I've run into a weird issue. I used the Scosche 1982 and up wiring harness and I thought I had everything wired up correctly, but for some reason the unit only runs when I've got the headlights on, and if I switch the headlights off it forgets the preset radio stations and balance settings. Any idea why this is happening?

 

Your constant power wire is incorrectly hooked up. Ensure that constant power from the HU is getting power at all times, even when the truck is off.

 

Well, I checked out the wiring again and everything seemed to be connected properly. That leads me to wonder if maybe there's something wrong with the harness itself.

 

Doubt the harness is the issue. Been installing stereos for over years and years never once had a bad harness.. Something is wired wrong.
