    Hello! My truck is 2001 2.7L 4WD 4 speed automatic (3RZFE Engine).

I'm having trouble locating exact part numbers for a replacement ATF filter and gasket. I am also hoping to get a part number for the crush washers used for the ATF drain plug bolt.

I've tried using toyoDIY.com with this info, but I don't see the filter or gasket anywhere.

Any help would be very much appreciated! Thanks!

The 'filter' is just a mesh screen. Take it out and spray down with brake cleaner, otherwise buy the only 2 available and return the 1 you don't use.

As for the 'gasket', use FIPG as they did from the factory. Pans that have a sort of 'lip' are better used with a gasket, but yours is smooth so FIPG would be the better choice.

Oh okay! I was trying to find something similar to what they show in this tutorial video. Do you think that kit is just for larger engines or something?

I know it may not be super necessary, but I would really like to replace the filter if anyone does happen to know the part number! Thanks!

    No video necessary.

    Just drain the fluid.

    Unbolt pan.

Remove pan, and use a non-marring scraper tool to remove the factory FIPG from all mating surfaces.

Apply FIPG to pan, and install pan.

Wait a day before adding fluid to allow the FIPG to cure.

Filter from many stores have yielded only 2 possible results; buy both and return 1 if you insist on replacing.

I say this having done the transmission pan and fluid on both my 2001 Tacoma Prerunner (same main A340) and 1998 4Runner Limited (A340F).

Copy that. Thanks for the tip about letting the FIPG cure for a day before adding fluid. I ordered the 1281 FIPG and also ordered this kit to see if the filter is the correct fit....we will see.

Anyone have a good part number for crush washers for the ATF drain plug bolt?

Think Amazon or a few other places sell a 10 or 20 pack that includes the steel crush gaskets -12157-10010, 90430-24003, and 90430-A0003 (those are all used between the diffs, transfer case, and transmission).
