Here’s a picture of my new third gen taco next to my first gen family taco. Would you guys rather start an off road/overland build on a first gen or third gen?

Good question, i always wanted a first gen, but after owning the 3rd gen since 2019 it’s grown on me. Can’t beat the aesthetics of a cleanly built 1st gen though

The thing that always shocks me about the first Gen is that my turning radius is better and that the overall length is nearly the same.
But the original engines are beasts… 255k miles and 0 oil leaks here

My gen3 4 cyl sr5 is very nicely appointed, runs good, looks great. Does what I need it to do.

I would rather do the 1st Gen I think. I would be less reluctant to make some bigger changes on an older truck versus my 3rd gen.
