You should have gotten a mailer from Toyota showing you what the dealer does at every 5k interval. Probably things like everyone talks about, u bolts and transmission oil checked if you haven't already had those checked.

Check to be sure the floor liner is secured to the floor.

You should have gotten this booklet along with your owners manual when you bought the truck. If you didn't it should be the first thing on your list!

Actually, the maintenance guide specifies to inspect and adjust all fluid levels every 5k; getting them to do it is the challenge.

Yep there are a few people going after Toyota for this actually. I saw one guy has a case filed already with the State Attorney General's office, he even posted the letter they sent to Toyota to open the investigation. I was pretty impressed with it. If they aren't willing to own up and take care of their customers and honor their written agreements I hope they get kicked in the nuts for it.

Unless you have a verifiable issue to bring to their attention, they’re gonna pull you truck to the service bay, fill-out a .5 hr worth of paper work and computer entry, back out your truck and get paid for .3 hr labor charge.
Sounds bad, but it’s not. These trucks don’t need a lot done to them for the first 10k by and large, so unless you have an issue don’t worry

    Hope that helps
    Cheers!

Personnally I think this every 10,000 mile oil change is to long to go without a change.I have a second car 2014 Prius that also reqires every 10,000 now at 9,000 miles since last change it's now starting to use a little oil.I'm going to start taking my.Tacoma and.Prius to a outside shop for oil chages

I would reconsider that for a moment.
If the outside shop leaves the oil plug loose, strips the treads or forgets to put oil and totals you engine, would they be responsible for damages and step up honor their work? This has and does happen.
And as anyone can see from the forging of my quote by $hitty99, honor is a rare thing now a days

    Hope that helps
    Cheers!
