Yep, looks like used oil. Does it taste like used oil?

Your Tacoma have the 2.7L engine. It’s virtually bulletproof. May even outlive you lol

In case anyone is interested in facts, I did my first oil change at 616 miles and sent a sample off to Blackstone. Should have the results soon.

I am an engineer and curious… Don’t mind spending a little more time and money by doing “extra” oil changes and paying for analysis. It will be really interesting to see results from this sample alongside subsequent samples.

Join the club. My post at 3k miles started a huge debate.

Just did my 20,000 oil change. Which is my 4th. My modified drain bucket works good, no spills. Motivx drain hose for the filter housing works good. I prefilled the filter housing, which was easy. Yeah I know not necessary but I do it anyway, same with my other ride that has a spin on filter. Put in 6 qts and 7 ounces which brings right up to the full mark. Still using OEM filters and oil, will probably change to Castrol when the warranty is up in September but will probably continue with OEM oil filters. They are half the price of a Wix filter and I think they are as good as any.
