First oil change done - 1k

    2016 Base. 4x4, 5-spd, 2.7L Access Cab.

    Depends upon if the oil filter is before or after the (possibly) magnetic plug at the bottom of the oil pan in the oil loop. I'm guessing my Ranger plug was before, considering how much grit I got off of it. No idea on the tacomas though.

    The engine filter should catch particles when the oil is hot and flowing well. When your vehicle is cold your oil system can go to bypass mode as the oil is thicker and bypass the filter. With this new 0W20 I dont know how much it would happen.

    I think magnetic drain plugs are great and I us them on every car.
