Ok, I took my 23 TRD OFFROAD in at 6 months for oil change and only had 2,300 miles on it, I have the 2 year free maintenance, when they saw the mileage they told me to wait another 6 months to do it and said they'd do it if I wanted but didn't recommend it, it's been about another 6 months in November and I still have barely 3,300 miles on it, so I called to have service and was told they would take at least 4 hours minimum to do strictly oil change, that is absurd, I bought truck new in November of 23, and don't drive long distance to work, 8 miles round trip. So basically you get 2 oil changes in 2 years or 10 to 12 thousand miles, I don't have the time to wait for a four or more hour oil change, when I can either do it myself or go to a fifteen minute oil change place, but making sure they know what they're doing and checking the work via video evidence or pics while doing it. I have an Associates degree in automotive diagnostics and repair, and know that short drives and stop and go traffic that they should have done it at 6 months regardless of mileage, I live in a dust bowl type of an area in California and I know for a fact that it should've been done at 6 months at minimum even with synthetic oil, the 2 year maintenance is a joke if you can't just get an oil change without the other stuff that they supposedly check, which I've already done and no tire rotation needed, anyway just a rant about the 2 year free maintenance horseshit, Toyota should have a quick in and out oil change option and not keeping your vehicle for a half or whole day.

I would not wait 10,000 miles or change my oil every 10,000 miles myself. I make some short trips often under 8 miles so I see that as bein in the place where the one or more of the conditions the manual says to do it at 5,000. I tow sometimes also. The other thing is I have seen videos of engines being opened up where 10k oil changes were done and the engines had sludge and varnish build up.
I originally changed my oil at just under 4,500 miles when mine was new and had an oil analysis done of that oil, I'll attach. I have wanted to have another done but when I've done it somehow I've had a Squirrel moment and forgot to collect the sample as it drained out and mixed with gear oils in the pan already.
You can see in the report there are some high trace metals in the sample but nothing too wild.
I am keeping to 5K OCI using 0w20 SuperTech full synthetic and OEM filter. Brand isn't really important as frequent oil changes are and ST is good oil based on tests done in a video I will add a link to where Super Tech was tested against a Dino oil and an expensive synthetic racing oil.
