IMG_4746.jpg After my first few mods/ fixes my first order of operation was to get rid of as much chrome as possible. I've never really been a fan and wanted to black out as much as I could. I told my self I wouldn't spray paint anything but I did end up plastidipping the emblem on my grill. As of right now, the only thing left chrome on my Taco' is the rear bumper.

I found a base model grill and eventually got the black corner lights to match.

My buddy owns a vinyl shop so the price was right to gloss black vinyl over the chrome on the front bumper. I figured I'd be happy with it until I get a front metal bumper.

I thought about taking the easy route and just buying a black grille and corner lights with black trim. My left corner light has some condensation. That's all the reason I need to replace it.

Looks good. How does that material hold up to impacts from road debris? Might be an option for the mirrors.

never understood the chrome for the "off-road" when rocks and shit will chip it up :notsure:

I de-chromed with Plasti-dip almost 2 years ago. It holds up well to bugs and road debris

    day I did it:

It holds up really well. It is commercial grade material. Pretty sure that was 3M brand. After almost 2 years it still looked really good. I originally wanted flat black but my buddy had gloss black in stock. It's kinda crazy how good it is considering it's basically just a sticker.

I like how plasti dip and vinyl are reversible, and that it protects the original surface.
