    Ahhh, The original semiautomatic!!
    S&W J frame is a great pistol.
Load it and put it away for say 50 years pull it out and it will work.
    Simple and effective.
    Good pick.

I love s&w revolvers, nice gun. You'll probably not want to shoot many 357's in it, especially with the stock grips. Get yourself either a Tyler T-grip or a set of 'boot grips' and you'll be a lot happier. If you want more info than you can handle go here:

it's like the tacomaworld for smith's.

If you do that, and most .357 S&W Magnum owners DO, do yourself a favor and buy a .357 chamber reamer from brownells.com.

You put several hundred rounds of SWC or RN Lead bullets w/ some particularly dirty powder and you'll build up a very thick ring just ahead of the .38 S&W Special case mouth. Push in a handful of .357 cartridges and this will boost the pressures high enough to do some damage to the gun or to you. Heard stories about it for years from all over. Rare event, but it happens, and I've seen the results once.

Shoot. Shoot often. Take a friend.

    Enjoy.
