Heading to Iowa today, first road trip in the new truck. Going for my Mom's 85th birthday, she's doing well and still living in her own house, will be nice to get the whole family together to celebrate.

Looking forward to seeing what kind of mileage I get on the interstate with the cruise set on 70 (I'm too old to speed any more, have had more than my share of tickets back in the day and insurance is a bitch). It's about 400 miles out there, should be a good test. Also going wheeling for the first time in the new truck, will post up some pics of my muddy truck next to a farm pond.

Much like this one of the trusty '94...

We drove into a pretty strong crosswind most of the way out, killed my hopes of over 20 mileage, got 17.2 on the first tank. Still running on the second tank but it'll suck because I went mudding and driving around in the country yesterday.

But it's ok for gas mileage to suck if you had fun!!!

True, and fun was definitely had! Mudding tank got 15mpg, drove in hard rain and strong wind coming home today, got 16.3. Still had hoped for better, although I was surprised that it wasn't significantly worse driving around in the mud and fields in 4WD than it was on the interstate with cruise set at 65mph.

    A few bolts are different.
Sweet, the 17.2 really is not to bad but your right would have been better without the wind.
