I’ve been lurking on here a few weeks and have gotten a ton of great insights. Now that I officially put my deposit down today I signed up.

First time I will own a pickup having been mostly SUV’s for my vehicle save for a long stretch where I had company cars and limited to FWD sedans. After having to abandon a stuck Altima in a blizzard and walk a mile from home in knee deep snow many years ago it’s now only 4 wheel drive for me.

My son is getting his license next month and will inherit my 2016 Forrester and that’s the only reason I am getting a new car in these crazy times. Between premiums on MSRP and a dealer who won’t work with me because I live 4 miles outside the customer perimeter they established I clearly love my kids!

I’m hoping my Tacoma arrives before the school year starts so he can enjoy the cool-factor driving himself the first day of school. I also work in the supply chain field so I know only too well what to expect.

Thanks for the welcome and the links. The rust one might have some latent paranoia for me when the salt trucks come out this winter!

Congrats on the pending truck, the fun that follows, and the odd WTF that will also follow.

TW is a great supportive and informative community. Welcome!
