im looking into changing my tie rods ball joints and had a few questions,
should I just change the rods as a whole or am I able to replace the ball joint and keep the rod?

Just get the entire tie rod, 555 makes solid replacements. Can you even get just the tie rod end ball joint?

While you are at it replace the lower ball joints they’re the weak part of the front suspension on these trucks.

I mean there’s the “do it right or do it again” methodology. I used Napa tie rods and they barely lasted 2 years. After paying for a new alignment it would have been cheaper to do the good parts first. But they worked fine until they didn’t.
